Hello everyone,

I have a little of a dilema:( The last time I have seen my husband was July 2011 for 10 days. I was planning on going to Egypt begining of January so see him again. We got great news that my husband will have his interview Dec 15. I have no vacation time left for the rest of the year. In my state and the job i have i only get 2 week vacation time plus some holidays n sick days. My vacation starts again in January and I will have 2 extra days that i will need to use before March 30. I really miss my husband and want to see him. But I don't know if it would be better to save the money and vacation time for when he finally comes? I will probably need to pay for his ticket here. Financially we are not very rich people but it will be very difficult for me to wait another 3-4 months without seeing him if he gets put into AP. What should I do??? I want to see him already:(

I really wish that we could see how many egyptians had spouse with and if it made a shorter AP or no AP? Or if it did not matter.

I am sure that would take alot of digging to get some information.

But I know in Egypt it is always better to have the USC wife there, especially for moral support because it is overwhelming.

I will be taking an unpaid leave of absence from work for 1 month to be with my husband and hope we come back together forever....

Good Luck on whatever you decide.

if you dont have the money then dont go. the embassy did not request you to be interviewed and therefore you're likely allowed to experience this. To me it seems like you know what to do given your explained situation. You have waited all this time.. practice the same patience you're at the end of the road.

Which state are you in? How did you manage to get unpaid leave, if you don't mind me asking? I'm in a banking industry and the only unpaid time they allow us if FMLA if its medical issue and the proof has to be provided from the doctor.

i would say to save your money as well...it seems that having USC at the interview may not affect whether you're put in AP at all...u also dont want to jeopardize your job...i hear of ppl getting laid off ALOT lately for whatever reasons...save up and be patient...i know its hard but stay strong :)
