i-751 Affidavits

We are getting ready to send in the i-751 form and we are very confused about the statement in the instructions asking for Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people.

What does this actually mean?

Would letters from 2 friends saying how they know us and that we are living as a married couple be fine if it states something like one of the following at the top?...

'I solemnly affirm and declare the foregoing to be a true statement'

or

'I declare under penalty of perjury under the Law of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct. Signed on month day, year at my town, my state.'

Any help would be great on this, thanks!

Not needed at all if you have enough evidence of co-mingling finances and lives.

If you need it just have friends write a letter attesting to your relationship and spending time doing activities with you.

Ours put: I declare under penalty of perjury under the Law of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct

Then they signed, then put full name, date and place of birth and current address and telephone number.

There are example affidavits on here, but we had our write what they wanted to write so it didn't seem contrived. Ours talked about visiting us at our home and various other social events and trips we'd been on together with them.

Like Inky says not really necessary. We just included them as we have no joint lease or mortgage so it was further evidence that we lived together along with a lot of other stuff...

We included Affidavits along with our financial, residential and tax info. Like they say, not required, but there's no harm in sending them.

One more question: are we correct in thinking that the non-US citizen fills out the form i-751 but it is the US citizen who writes and signs the covering letter for that package that we mail?
