I feel your pain just when you think you can't wait any longer you wait some more :girlwerewolf2xn:

We had a routine of chatting morning and night with a weekly internet cafe so we could see each other and that still wasn't enough!!

But after it all she's here and were married! hang tough buddy.

So, as many of us here probably are in, or have been in long distance engagements, sometimes I just feel like I'm completely alone. Is this feeling normal? How to cope or manage these feelings? I work full time, and I'm at school full time. I spend some time with my family, but every night I am usually alone. I don't have much of a social life right now, which would probably help, but I still have this feeling of solitary confinement when I come home...

I completely understand you. I am in school and work full time as well. I feel like I'm waiting for the night to come always because that's when I can talk to my fiance.

It will be hard, you will feel alone even when there are many people around you. It will be hard for people to understand what you're going through.

But remember that this is an investment. When you go to work, you're doing it for her. When you go to school, you're doing it for her.

All in all, when she gets here, you'll be super busy and not have time to remember what you just went through anyway.

It's all patience. :)

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Besides that, this will be my first, and hopefully my last, marriage. However, many people I've talked to recently (at work) have suggested that "marriage is overrated", "people change as soon as you're married", "feelings and love don't last", etc. For the most part, I believe them, because I haven't had any real example of a stable relationship in my life. However, could these people just be bitter in their current or previous marriages? Who knows...

Someone's always got to put in their 2 cents on any given subject (like I am doing now :P). Take the advice you find useful and discard the rest and remember: misery loves company. Whenever the woman at my work want to start their stupid, we'll say, "complaint-fests" about their husbands/partners, I don't have a word to say because I've truly never been happier. That gets right under their skin and I think to myself "good".

However, I'm dreading (when we have kids) the "let me tell you how you should raise your kid" advice...

In Senegal, the power is always going out. So we hardly get to talk online. Its been a few minutes here and there for about 6 months. Our feelings for one another have not changed. He still tells me he loves me and misses me and I tell him the same. We are all in it for the long haul. It takes a strong love for each other to stay together. Once it is all said and done, you will be together and it will all seem like a distant part of your past. Good luck with your journey. :P

Yep its really rough I am the petitioner and we are approaching month six with no noa2 yet. Somedays are good and somedays not we Skype , ym , phone , email a combination of those every single day. It's just hard and even though ill be there for Christmas what's rough is not knowing anything, no updates no accurate time lines etc. I disagree with anyone who finds any type of comfort in this process as when your truly in Lo e there is no comfort in being apart. We have just accept when it comes it comes. Nothing else we can do. It will happen.

I agree, sometimes... Guess we're really not alone though cuz at the end of the day we all have 2 things in common "alone (for now) n deeply in love (for ever). " ;)

Indeed it does. When we actually bring ourselves to go out with others we go back to constantly IMing each other, sending pictures of the party, etc... So much so, that we had our phones sometimes get "confiscated" by friends when we go out :P. I've become this annoying person who doesn't turn her phone completely off during a movie in case it blinks... and the texting starts again. He also has a collection of social faux-pas under his belt.

People take for granted to have their significant other with them. When the happy time comes and we're together for good, I'm never leaving his side ever again.

(The Holidays are kicking me in the butt :crying: )
