Hello all,

I have some last minute questions regarding Documents, evidence of relationship for my Interview (at Montreal Consulate) coming up December 12th, that I would really appreciate some advice and peace of mind on.

1) Letter of Intent to Marry form US Citizen - stated in the Packet#4 letter, the Letter of Intent (from US Citizen) must be signed within 30days before the Interview date. What if this is dated 6 days outside of the 30days? (ie: Interview is 12/12/2011, letter of intent (US citizen) is dated 11/06/2011. Will that hinder the approval?

My (beneficiary) letter of intent will be within the 30days.

2) Evidence of relationship - We do not have phone records as we always use SKYPE (Video/audio when home at same time, and texting when not at home at same time), and Windows Live messenger (when not at home at same time), for all of our communication.

How much evidence do I bring with me? I mean, I have a years worth of transcripts (Live Messenger, Skype - recent screen shots of us Video/audio chatting and chat logs, FB, photos), and that is like over 500+ pages of printouts.

So my question is, how far back and how much do I printout? Should I only pick out excerpts (1 or 2 conversations), per month up to just prior to my Interview? I don't want to OVERKILL the Consulate with a huge pile of Printouts.

Thank you in advance.

1, They only want a letter from the USC don't need one from the beneficiary. a few days outside of 30 days probably wont make a difference.

2, I brought a few photos and some print outs of chats and phone records, never was asked for any of it.

I think you are worrying way too much about this. Most people who have been posting recently say that they were never asked for any extra evidence at all even though they brought extra.

There's no need to go crazy with the printer. Even if they ask for evidence of a relationship, which is VERY UNLIKELY, chat logs and the like are not the best evidence. If it makes you feel better, maybe print out a couple transcripts, but no more than that- it's wholly unnecessary. Save your printer ink.

For evidence of a relationship (which they did not ask for) I brought 4 photos and our plane and train tickets from when we visited each other. They only really seemed to care about that evidence for the affidavit of support, which is far more important.

I had my interview on November 16, 2011 in Montreal and I was not asked for any evidence. I took phone records, chat logs, plane tickets, hotel receipts and pictures. The OP only asked to see my favorite picture. I showed him 1 picture that was it. He never asked for any other evidence even though I had plenty with me. I only went back 6 months for Google talk as I had chat logs going back 3 years. That would have been over 5 thousand pages of print outs. Good luck at your interview. It will be a piece of cake. I was nervous while I waited outside in line waiting to go into the Consulate. But once inside I was able to relax and I was in at 1:45 and out by 2:45PM. Only an hour from start to finish. :)

For evidence if you really wanna take chat logs, take the most recent ones to prove ongoing relationship. My fiance and I are the same, we only use Skype and GoogleTalk so I just took our Skype conversation logs. They never asked for them, but I'd say take some recent ones just in case.

Aside from that, pictures are good. Tickets that show you visited each other is also good. I also had a ton of receipts and stuff from when my fiance came to visit and we went out or when I visited and he took me out and so forth.

Any phone records, no matter how small, are also good as long as you can explain you use online voice chat programs more often.

Don't worry too much. :)

Most Cdn's aren't asked for much evidence since it's so easy for us to visit one another freely, but bringing it along is of course wise. The interview is all of 5-10 minutes and they have no interest in reading through your chat logs :) I would bring more solid evidence, receipts from places where you've shopped at the other's hometown, plane ticket stubs/ itineraries etc.

Thank you ALL for all your insight and experiences and advice.

I think i have the evidence part covered, and yes i'm probably being over worried.

What is bugging my USC fiancee, is her Letter of Intent to marry, being 6days over the 30days window(as specified on the Packet4 Letter).

I think it will be ok since it's such a short time form the 30days, but she is a bit worried, and wondering if she should send me another letter STAT.

I appreciate you all very much!

Cheers,
