Hubby and I were denied the K1 in January 2010. Denied the CR1 in March of 2011. We are now on month 7 (from when they received our returned package) waiting to hear back from the USCIS. I feel this is quite a valid question. Hubby and I have discussed this. No matter what happens with that visa, I will continue to be his wife, and our relationship will continue to grow. It is not possible for me to move there now, but would continue seeing him during each of my vacations from work, until such a time I could live there, or spend summers there. We need to be together, as it is quite difficult not having your spouse next to you, but the consulate is only in control of our visa, and where we will end up with our lives physically, it is NOT in control of our relationship, and how it has flourished amidst all the let downs. Just my 2 cents from my corner of the world!

This dude? I hope your english improves before your immigration appointment.

If you are truly a researcher, particularly when researching sensitive subjects, then you are accustom to dealing with people who are suspicious of your intentions. Researchers bear the burden of proof to establish trust and legitimacy when posing their questions--not making snarky replies.

I think terminating the relationship is horrible for a married man/woman it is horrendous, as for people intending to marry then it is equally as shock as well because you'll find the innocent moroccan family not knowing the realities of the visa process be totally distraught when their daughter/SON is abandoned all because the visa was denied.

The immigration visa process has to be overhauled tremendously,FOR TRUE COUPLES WITH SINCERE INTENTIONS

You speak of the innocent Moroccan family....yet I have seen time and time again here cases where the Moroccan was not so inncocent.

You come here to an American visa website and tell those of us here in various phases of the process how you believe our marriages should or should not be based.....and write to us in an aggressive tone as if we are sharks out to devastate some poor Moroccan. There are those of us that truly do love our foreign spouses. I would like to say most of us, anyway. The process is too hard not to do it for love. And as for the Moroccans not knowing about the visa process.....please. They know.

So lemme ask you something......you say the process has to be overhauled for couples with sincere intentions. What is your solution? How could you do it better than them? And what would you say to those of us sincere couples who have maintained an international relationship for years because of a denial? And one more thing....did it ever occur to you that EVERYONE may not be able to move to Morocco to be with their spouse or that some people may have obligations in America that prevent them from moving and that the Moroccan moving to America may be, for some, the only way to maintain a relationship on the same continent? The divorce rate among Americans without visa issues is about 50% for first marriages. Throw in some intercontinental issues, cultural differences, financial difficulties and soon your reasons for Moroccan-American marriage failure outweigh anything any visa could fix. I would never assume every marriage that fails after a visa denial was simply BECAUSE of the visa denial. I would also never assume that anyone's failed marriage would be simply because the big bad American 'abandoned' their foreign spouse. And I would not assume that any marriage ending would be easy on either party.

But all that is just my opinion........ I like to hear cases individually before I run out screaming or rush to judgement. Well, usually I do. :)

As for me and my hubby........I'm praying like crazy that he gets his visa. But I will remain his wife too, though it will be a few years before I can actually MOVE there. All I could do now is a week or two every so often. It sux. But I have been looking at some awesome houses in Morocco that I could and would be excited to live in if the day ever comes that I need to and am able to move.

<grin> ya think? My wife and I have happily and with no issue navigated freely back and forth through the process in not one but two countries AKA immigration appointments over and done but thank you.

I guess since neither of us are scammers we did not really run into speed bumps or flags. Many scammers have good english skills so I guess english doesnt have anything to do with it LOL. If english did, then it wouldnt be the USC's english anyway. duh

SO - I am wondering what is the intention and purspose of your research. You are not an immigrant or intending immigrant so you want what here?

Hence my mild level of interest. Spit it out (dude). If you are advertising some sort of service this isn't the place.

This dude? I hope your english improves before your immigration appointment.

Yes tany1157 I'm sorry to hear that you both were denied, but I like you and your husband's moral.Hang on in there, so what have you done to appeal or fight this injustice?(to deny a family to be together is injustice and a crime to me)

Well silverberry1331 your profile looks like you and husband our a happy couple...but your new to the game and I can say you dont know morocco too well, so relax maybe you get some get some pointers.Me being a researcher has nothing to do with the discussion. you read my profile and went the wrong direction, like the man who intended to head to the west, but was heading south.

Miss smarty pants excellent response. Well it seems like a lot denials arent based on solid evidence and then we have the usa consulate who has authority that is hard to challenge(at least without a hard fight)I have met many families or it seems most moroccans think once your married or apply for a visa it means the person being petitioned for automatically goes to america..I saw on this website a petition in the past which complained about the moroccan consulate what ever became of that does anyone know?

We put a service request in on November 10, since that was the 6 month mark. They said we should get a response in 30 days. 30 days will be up this weekend, so I can put another service request in Monday. It really sucks waiting for this letter, it's making me sick. I called USCIS again yesterday, and I told the lady " no offense, but you can't help me because you are only going to read off the computer what I can see for myself on my own computer. I want to speak with a supervisor and/or a tier 2 rep. " She said ok. She transferred me to an officer, he got some info, and put me on hold for about 5 min just to tell me there is nothing updated in the system. I asked if he could tell me if theywere even working on our petition, and he said he couldn't tell anything since nothing is updated in the system.

I wish you good luck on your interview, and I'm sure things will go fine for you guys. What happened to us doesn't seem to be the norm. . I can't wait to hear your good news!!

NO MORE IMMIGRATION!!????

Exercising my newly and rediscovered english skills. Here is the trigger to wonder what your purpose is:

"11 years experience in Morocco" sounds like something from a resume

"I have seen many marriages between Americans and Morrocans (and arranged them too)" sounds like an advertisement for a service

Experience in arranging marriages and experience in Morroco along with a discussion of visa denial (and what appears to be no active case in process), intentionally or not, and taken in context, looks like a fishing expedition for what sounds like an advertised service.

The choices were nicely summarized for possible visa denial. Fight it out, relocate to the benificiary's country, or give up/separate and move on. Usually the couples who have something real and choose to fight it out eventually get their immigration benefits approved.

As to "mistreatment" of beneficiaries - scamming happens on both sides. Every story of a mistreated immigrant gets matched up with a story of a young guy who married an older woman and split as soon as the green card arrived in the mail. For every story like this there are far more stories of couples who get through this process and make a nice life together (stories like ours)

well I lived off and on in morocco for many years and I have seen so many marriages between moroccans and americans( I have arranged them too)

I like to tell couples to not base their lives on a visa because it isnt guaranteed. I keep hearing so much bad things about the usa-consulate in morocco nowadays.

It used to be easy to get the visa,or at least no so much prep and worrying.

This is a friendly discussion of our thoughts of marriage and back up plans..

As for my islamic research then I do small translations of islamic material in arabic to english and call to islam, and other islamic research.

i don't get it.
