INTERVIEW TODAY....NO VISA!!

My husband had an interview today. He provided the interviewer with phone bills, chat logs, emails, and plane tickets. The only thing the interviewer looked at were photos. He proceeded to ask my husband about how many kids I have and their names & ages. He then told my husband that he would NOT be getting the visa and that I needed to come back for a second interview. I'm just wondering what I should expect from this. Also, my husband had to go to purchase some kind of calling card for $10, which apparently is the only way to reschedule the interview. When I called to schedule the interview I only got a recording & a full voicemail box. Have any other Haiti filers experienced this? My concern is that I pay the $800+ for the plane ticket and he still does not get the visa. I will be beyond pissed. I'm so aggravated and frustrated right now I can't even put it into words. I'm holding on by a thread!

What did he answer wrong?

Did he feel nervous?

Do you have any red flags?

I am so sorry his has happened to you both. I think you should be at the next interview and arm yourselves with alot of evidence and make sure he knows the answers to everything. I seen someone on here yesterday say fiance was denied for not knowing her daughters last boyfriends name. I do not remember what country he was from.

Anyhow, I wish you luck and I give you prayers.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

He didn't answer anything wrong. He knows my kids names, ages, & birthdays ...etc. No red flags that I know of. They really didn't ask him any other questions. I don't have anymore evidence...I sent it all! At this point I don't know what else to do but hope for the best.

Sorry for your experience sis, but if they have requested to see you you owe yourself and family the opportunity to prove you have a bonafide marriage. You didn't do anything wrong. The day before I married my husband in Nigeria we went to the registry to see if there was anything needing to be finalized. My fiancé went in alone and came out upset. The judge said to him, "there is an American who came to Nigeria to get married!, I don't believe it! Bring her in!" I took my fat happy #### in to fill out the remaining papers. I'd advise you to do the same. Just see it through.

First I want to say I truly feel your pain and frustration, especially when you know your case is a solid approval. So sounds like you must obtain a CIVA card, i think it's like $15.00 and purchaseable through Sogebank.

Ok I read a lot on VJ and according to the posts from the Haiti portal it is best to attend the interview with the beneficiary because if not there is a chance they will ask for the petitioner to attend the second interview. If that's all they want is for you to attend then it sounds like you should attend.

Did your husband recieve a 221g form? Did they keep his passport? It may take some time to get through to CIVA. 1 card gives you 5 inquiry requests.

If you can get notarized affidavits from family members and friends who are aware and attended your wedding you can also use those as additional evidence.

I am sorry for your dissappointment today. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope your situation is resolved quickly.

THANK YOU!!! I was losing my mind with that recording. I will definitely try the email. I'm embarrassed to say I don't know where to begin as far as my Congressman, but I guess it's a good time to figure it out. I appreciate the info!!

My husband already bought the card for me. I tried calling and got absolutely nowhere. I sent about 5 notarized affadavits already...lol! This is why I'm so annoyed. I have nothing left to send. I sent plane tickets, hotel receipts, chat logs, emails, phone bills...everything except a tape of us in "the act." LOL He recieved a form that stated the visa was not approved and I needed to join him in Haiti for a 2nd interview. Not sure what form # it was becasue the copy he scanned was cut off a bit. Please keep us in your prayers! I think faith is the only answer now.

hmmmm it might be a temporary denial pending the second interview, if so then you will need to convince them at your 2nd interview that your relationship is solid. I would either read posts on here or post a new thread asking for evidence suggestions and I am sure someone wiill come up with something new. Also post it in the right forum category.

I will be definately praying for you.

if your having to go as well i suggest you be prepared to be separated and questioned... while i didnt go to the interview with my husband they did call me about 5 weeks later and ask me questions for 10 minutes before saying everything was fine. He may still have to go into the AP namechecks and get a 221g but at that point dont worry about it.. if that happens its just the procedure ... they normally do not do name checks on anybody they intend to deny.

Wish you the best but be prepared and read about STOKES questioning... sounds like they may do that OR they may simply want to see you and ask you a couple of questions with him... but expect the unexpected for sure !!!!! GOOD LUCK!

I do not know why i see US embassy in haiti most of the time does not allow the visa if both people are not attending the interview. That happened to a friend of mine who is the beneficiary and the US wife is the petitioner. They did not give him the visa the first day of the interview and they ask him to make sure that his wife in Haiti specially to attend the second interview. This gonna be a problem for me because my wife is currently pregnant and i heard that from 6 months of pregnancy her doctor will not allow her to take plane. I do not know how i am going to handle this situation. Suppose i have her doctor explaning everything in a letter and have it sent directly to the embassy, i am wondering if it will be taken into account.

Rujby , I think if you get a letter from your wifes doctor explaining why it is a high risk for her to travel for the interview you should be fine. Another VJ member from Haiti did that and it worked for her. Also don't forget I attended the interview with my fiance and I wasn't even aknowledged....I had to roar a little to even get some eye-contact so you never know what they really want. Bon chance my friend.
