need urgent help please

had foodstamp appointment, but im not elligible since i dont have work credits

i got some food from a food pantry so im alright for a week or so.

also have appointment to get on free health program friday, and going to legal aid friday too =)

one lawyer in Fort Wayne is calling some colleagues to see if someone in my county can do some initial pro bono work in order to take my husband to court for legal fees and support.

He is the lawyer that won the Chang v Crabill case, so he knows what steps i need to take and the best way to go about it all =)

one small spot of luck, husband forgot to unlink his credit card from paypal so i got $400 in visa gift cards before he shut it down lol

and i am VERY lucky to have internet, judge ordered him to pay utilities, phone & internet until divorce hearing since that is the only means of communication i have.

i will keep checking back and keeping you all posted - your advice has DEFINITELY helped get things moving ^^

i feel very proud of the VJ community. shows the power of forums like this in the real world.

sounds like you are taking the good news (food pantry, progress with lawyers, etc) with the bad (food stamps). keep up the determination! still proud of you!

no news yet with lawyer

but today i applied and got grants for study, so monday im getting a callback from the university i applied online to to finalize enrollment ^^

its online for now but i can always change if i am able to get situated better and find transport =)

and they will review my transcripts from back home to see if my studies there will be counted or not, so hopefully they will and i can pick up where i left off =)

my main concern is lawyer now...if i can get that sorted that will help alot with everything but every step forward is awesome =)

PS: dont think the husband is happy about me doing so well on my own....found him sitting in parking lot when i got back from appointments and maintenance guy said hes seen him creeping around lot when im out hes also being very difficult and not bringing the boys as scheduled

Anytime something like this happens, call the police. If you are being stalked, that should be on record. Additionally, even if you do not qualify for a protective order, you may qualify for a peace order. You can do that on your own, without a lawyer.

believe me i have.... they do nothing at all.

he broke the protective order multiple times which is why my lawyer had to withdraw. each time they did nothing. then when i filed for a renewal they denied it because they didnt think he was a threat anymore

he will be pursuing my husband for his fees under the affidavit of support so that is a HUGE relief ^^

My husband found out I applied to college and got grants, he called and started yelling at me over the phone to give him money....

then when he called again and i said i was at an appointment he went completely mental yelling at me to tell him who was helping me get transport or he would disconnect my phone

he ended up disconnecting it, so now i cant get a hold of my attorney other than emails and it has also limited my ability to apply for jobs since now i have no transport, money, documents or phone

but the hearing is on the 18th January so im sure my lawyer will be more than happy to point all the husbands ####### out to the courts

have you looked into skype for calling? im not that familiar with it, but i think it might be a good solution if you do have internet access. if he pays for your internet, maybe dont mention what you are using it for, yeah?

the lady at the shelter has loaned me a phone for emergencies so that is a huge relief.

husband told me last night he found work, which is good since he now has income to pay the support so he cant claim he doesnt have money now.

its all fun & games with him...he shouted at me to give him money when he dropped boys off, and he also wants the passwords to my emails lol....not going to happen

i think hes angry because i am doing pretty well on my own despite his efforts to prevent me doing things.

i also have text messages with him refusing to hand over my documents and voicemails telling me he doesnt intend to let me see the children unless i do as he says (he thinks he only has to let me have them on days he goes to school which of course is wrong)

it seems he also reported the giftcards stolen and they have been deactivated, but i spent about an hour on phone with the company and the lady said she is going to try and activate them again, and will call me back...but now phone is off i will have to call back and hope they can find my details so i dont spend another hour on phone

As a woman, this sounds like a situation you need to remove yourself from

immediately, with or without your personal possessions. There are safe

havens that will provide you with emergency toiletries, change of clothes,

warm food, assistance with filing a protective order, anything.

im in IN, in howard county

i am out of the situation as best i can. he has been ordered out of the residence, but there is apparantly nothing i can do about him videotaping/photographing me, sitting in the parking lot or yelling at me over the phone

i am documenting EVERYTHING...and tonight my son told me that him, his brother and my husband are all sleeping in one bed at sister in laws house...court ordered them to stay there on condition they have a bed EACH, so tomorrow im contacting the attorney that said he will help me.

not getting far with system in regards to him breaking protective order...they want phone records to prove he called, and since the phone was in his name they are mailing out forms i have to take to police station to have them fill out and send off...but deadline for submitting them is the 20th
