If it is an embassy specific question try posting in the UK forum...http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

If it is a general question like "have they received your casefile?", then call DOS. They can be very helpful at times.

Good Luck!

Hello

from personal experience I have found it is best and maybe even your only option to call the paid number which is

09042450100, sadly this number costs £1.23 p/m but on the bright side the people you speak to have nearly all the answers you need straight away they dont mess you around atall.

Every time I have tried to call the London US Embassy on any other number the moment I say the word "Visa" they transfer me to the paid line..

thanks for the reply. i have submitted forms pack one week before the expiration of my 129F petition (28 nov) through next day recorded delivery. But today i got a letter from them saying that they have had no reply from me. i tried many times on their expensive number but every time they disconnected my call saying they are busy. i don't know how to contact them.

That seems very strange and concerning!

Have you tried using another phone? Perhaps your cell phone or landline if your currently using a cell.

Have you tracked your order to make sure it got there?

Maybe it got there but they havent processed it yet...

If the phone doesnt go dead right away try pressing 3 or 4 either one of those options takes you too a visa operator.

Edit - Sorry I forgot to add I think the embassy close at 7pm on maybe this is why its going dead!

ya i am calling from my cell and also tried options no 3 and 4 but same message again. The embassy timings are 8am- 9pm. i did track my post and according to them they received my docs on 24th Nov. Seriously i don't know what to do.

In that case the only thing I can suggest is to be patient. I know it is hard and really stressful. But hopefuly they just havent processed your documents yet and will get to it soon!

As for contacting the embassy, is it only today you have tried calling them? If so maybe it's just a bug in their system or something and it will be sorted by monday. Or like I said before from another phone.

I'm sorry I couldnt provide much help but these are the only options I can think of and I truley understand your frustration over this.

My fiance had problems with this phone line too - so often I would call (from the states) and pay the $16 flat rate to speak to somebody at the London Embassy - they typically would give me an email code - which was answered very quickly. So, I'd suggest having your fiance call so that he/she can at least email them in reply to that letter letting them know the paperwork is there.

Also, Allan got through once and it was when he called right at opening and was on hold for 15+ minutes. It ended up being cheaper for me to call in the long run....

I can say that the best time to call the Kiev consulate was at 8am KIEV TIME. The majority of the calls come from US citizens (so I am told) and guess where they are at 8am KIEV time. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. The same may apply for London. Try it.
