12-02-11 - Interview - 221g due to a washed passport
12-17-11 - POE - YYC (preclearance in Canada)

2011 to 2013 - Life happened

06-26-13 - Divorce finalized

10-07-13 - I-751 divorce filer paperwork journey begins

07-03-14 - ROC interview - approval pending delayed background checks

07-25-14 - APPROVED! 10 year GC is finally in production!

08-01-14 - 10 year GC in hand. The journey has finally ended. :)

2014 to 2020 - Living paperwork-free and focused on me!

11-09-20 - N-400 filed online - welcome back VJ fam!

6-22-21 - Interview in Nashville, approved! And then...

6-22-21 - Pledge of Allegiance taken. Holy shirtballs I'm a US Citizen.

USCIS

03/25/2011- I-130 sent in

03/26/2011- NOA-1

09/20/2011- Service Request

09/28/2011- Service Request Reply(extensive background check,allow 6 months...blah-blah..)

10/07/2011- RFE(4 pages)

11/15/2011- RFE reply sent back to USCIS

12/05/2011- reply for RFE showed up in the system (took them 20 days to locate and input in the system...lucky us...)

01/11/2012- NOA2(urrrrraaaaa!!!!)

NVC

01/23/2012-case received(took 12 days...waiting for the case #)

01/27/2012-case # received(but wrong Embassy assigned...has to change)

02/01/2012-invoices are e-mailed to both of us by NVC

02/07/2012-invoices are paid(had to wait due to the wrong assignment of the embassy )

02/14/2012-both packgs are sent in

02/29/2012-checklist for a missing copy of passport(not missing in reality,but either wait 20 days for a review or send it in again,so we sent it in...)

03/09/2012-case complete( could have taken less ,but well..who cares it is complete now!!!)

Timeline

Good morning everyone. Just wanted to share my news. I had my interview this morning. After a stomach churning hour fearing all the worst possible scenarios, i got to hear the best words ever. 'Well im approving your visa' I cried and the lady asked me to stop as it was going to set her off!

That's really sweet! Congratulations! :)

March 22, 2010 - Introduced online through a mutual friend

July 9, 2010 - I flew out to Phoenix to see Marques, initially for 1 month, changed to just short of 90 days

December 16, 2010 - I flew out to Marques for another 3 months. Christmas in Vegas!

December 31, 2010 - Marques proposed... I said yes! :)

March 10, 2011 - We flew back to London together, Marques met all my family and friends. He stayed for 2 weeks

June 23, 2011 - I flew out to see Marques again

September 19, 2011- I flew back to England alone :

December 30, 2011 - Marques will be here with me!!!

January 9, 2012 - Marques flew back to AZ :(

K-1 Timeline

October 21, 2011 - I-129F sent via USPS

October 23, 2011 - USPS delivery confirmation at Dallas Lockbox

October 26, 2011 - NOA1 email received - Check cashed

October 28, 2011 - Touched

October 31, 2011 - NOA1 Hard copy

March 5, 2012 - NOA2 email!! 131 Days

March 8, 2012 - NOA2 Hard copy

March 12, 2012 - NVC Received, case number issued - NVC spelled my name incorrectly!

March 21, 2012 - Embassy received our case

March 24, 2012 - Packet 3 letter arrived - Called and emailed Embassy to get my name spelled correctly.

March 28, 2012 - Medical

April 11, 2012 - Forms sent to Embassy

May 3, 2012 - Appointment letter received

May 9, 2012 - Embassy interview - APPROVED!

May 15, 2012 - Visa received

June 8, 2012 - POE Charlotte NC - Connection to Phoenix AZ

Oh wow. She literally couldn't have been less emotional with me if she'd tried!

the lady i had for sorting the paper work out with was horrible at first, i was with her about 20 mins!! she complained that i had sent to much paper work. but when i got called up the 2nd time it was with the blonde lady and it was over and done with in about 2 mins.

Hope you get things sorted real soon!! will keep my finers crossed for you.

I think you might have had the same lady as me for the first one too - window 13? She spend so long faffing with my photos as they were in a ziplock bag and her nails were too long - she ended up cutting them open instead! She complained that I wasn't doing K1 and said I should worry about my overstay as it's a 'dark cloud' over my interview (before adding that she didn't know anything about the law of overstays). She seemed jolly though, and her complaining had lightheartedness to it, where as window 16 was so negative with me that it's still not dawned on me fully that I've got my visa!

(be happier when its in my hand) i think it was 13? it was the first window in the other room, away from the main waiting area. i really though game was over with her. Just so happy its done with. Next mission.. find a flight out there b4 xmas.

When you flying? Momondo is pretty special for finding cheap flights, expecially good if you're flexible. And book a return even if you're going one way.

I've found a BA flight for £700 including three checked bags, which is perfect, especially as I'm flying before Xmas too.
