Marrying pets really?... I figured that would come up when mentioning gay marriage. Same way 50 years ago, people thought interracial marriages were sick and repulsive and it wasn't till the mid 90's that interracial marriages was above the 50 percent approval rating in our nation. Glad to see old views eventually die out and the next generation are more accepting.

Just as stupid as saying banning assault rifles does not infringe our rights because we can still own flintlocks. Right?

I'l tell ya why. Because some of us here including myself find the homosexual lifestyle sick and repulsive and we don't want our children thinking it's the norm. Next up will be people marrying their pets.

Marriage is between a man and a woman.

I know a man who married a duck - but he had the marriage annulled - he said he couldn't get up for down

I have had eight wives and I have a deep and burning resentment for gays who go all through their life with no divorces and not being ripped off and all the rest of it - they never have their guns taken away because of domestic violence charges. In short, they are a select class of people who escape all the hardships that come the way of married people

For that reason I say stop giving them a cushy life protected from marital nastiness - let them, no make them, get married

Lets spread the misery around

Sorry for those words of social realism to all the white toothed, blond haired, fairy tail life, christian people who live a life of total bliss with their one and only spouse forever and who would never have an argument in god's sight, and who have two perfect children, one of each, destined for great success and accolades, who will marry the person who became their first sexual partner but only after vows in the sight of Jesus Christ

In other words, people like John Edwards - the epitome of falseness and hypocrisy

I don't quite understand how some people on VJ can be so against gay marriage and they are hear complaining about how the government won't let them marry their foreign fiancees/spouses. The level of ignorance is just baffling.

Spot on.

I'd rather think of children raised in a loving household of two gay men (or women) than raised in a household by a straight people like you.

Ya I can hear it now when little Johnny has a sleepover. "Hey Johnny, who's that man that has their tongue down your dad's throat?" "Oh, that's just my dad and mom-dad." "But Johnny, why is that man wearing a skirt and heels?"

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Let me ask this: DO you really think a whether the parents are homosexual or not has no bearing on the child's development... assuming all other things are equal?

It's curious that anyone would even bring this up during the primary campaign season. All this girl did was give one candidate another opportunity to reassure the Republican voting field that she is against gay marriage, which is what the vast majority all want to hear.

Bottom line is that for someone who is gay or lesbian, there is never going to be an acceptable answer to that question, so she might as well have given this answer..and she did it without hesitation, so it will be a positive for her.

Just the very thought of teen-age girls in your house at a sleepover gives me cold chills.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

I have only known one gay couple really well. When I stayed in Munich, I slept at their apartment - the first time with my wife, and then when I got divorced, I stayed there with them on my own

At first I didn't even know they were gay - they sure were not advertising it.

Phil 'came out' to me in a bar in Munich. A gay bar. I was well into my bucket so I didn't even know it was a gay bar until I was introduced to Lulu who was 6 foot 6 and a Bavarian with leather shorts...

He never tried anything with me. Why should he - he knew that you are what you are and its no good trying for a conversion. That works both ways so Barkmad's husband is wasting his time trying to convert gays and make them into Herman Caine's

It appears that there are several kinds of gays ranging from paedophile gays to 'normal' gays.

That's the way it is for heteros too of course

If that is the case then a 30 year old gay male at home with a 13 year old boy is no different to a 30 year old hetero male at home with a 13 year old girl.. But that only holds true if neither 30 year old male is a paedophile

It also struck me that very many paedophile males are married to women. Plenty in the news right now. Actually, Barkmad sort of acknowledged that her husband is gay when she said gay men should marry women.

He really is

So gay/straight isn't enough information for us to condemn anyone

I wasn't really joking when I said gays should experience the tough side of marriage. Why shouldn't they. After all, its going to lessen the numbers of gay men prowling the seedy side of town

As a hetero, I did enough prowling (wholesome of course)over 18 years, and getting married sure clipped my wings

So if anyone wants to see less gay men hanging around in public looking for partners, then let em marry - they will disappear from the scene at that time - just like I did

..and for the mean conservatives, it saves money - the first 'spouse' will look after his 'spouse' financially instead of going to the government as they do now. There that has changed your minds hasn't it ?

$10 will buy any conservative's moral outrage

Say there are no laws against it. Just hypothetically speaking.

At what age would you draw the line and say that is too young... whistling.gif

Legal age in Alaska is 16 years old. A day under 16 here and I don't even think of fooling around with them...before i was married. :hehe:

*btw my ex wife was 16 when she moved in with me...I was 20 at the time.
