So no matter who or what the incoming movement looks like, the president must not only involve himself but give momentum to the uprising?

WE CALLED MOBARAK "OUR PARTNER" in the middle east, what lesson did other partnerss learn from this?

Nothing for them to learn. Alliances of convenience are like water in the most of the tribal world: They evaporate quickly. However, blood feuds are forever, and despite all the best intentions, any agreement negotiated today with "Partners in Peace" (or whatever the current cliche) will be forgotten when somebody drinks from the wrong well.

Does anyone see any Muslims and/or Arabs on that map? I don't. So it's simple to say the Muslims stole the land from the Jews. Now if anyone can find a map showing the Muslims/Arabs were there "before the Jews", then go for it.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The U.S. had always some shitty choices in the Middle East.

In Iraq it was to play nice with Saddam, who we knew was a guy as bad as it gets, (a) in order to sell weapons, (b) in order to keep our hand on the black gold, and © to make sure Iran doesn't go gagga.

In Egypt is was to play nice with Mubarak, who we also knew was a guy as bad as it gets, (a) in order to protect Israel, (b) to control the Suez Canal, and © in order to get our hands on the black gold.

Hence, it was always a relationship of convenience, held in high esteem until the waters turned and "we" had to look in the other direction and change positions.

Now that we have f*cked up Iraq we learn what we all knew all along: that sectarian violence will peak there once the last U.S. troops have left. Yep, newsflash, the guy as bad as it gets was also as good as it gets to keep the crazy people under control. Duh!

In Egypt we now have to deal with a renewed thread to Israel, a thread to the Suez Canal, and a radically charged, Muslim government. Duh!

There was really no way of winning this dirty game, and in case of Iraq we just declared war. In case of Afghanistan, we declared war. In case of Iran, we consider declaring war. If we feel there's a thread evolving to any of the U.S.'s interest, we declare war.

Now that we are working hard on outlawing bullying in our schools, I wonder when we will outlaw bullying on the international level. As long as the U.S. is the bully probably not anytime soon.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

None of those kingdom existed after 70 a.d. In case you hadn't noticed, the folks that lived there over the millenia since then have more in common ancestor-wise with those ancient kingdoms than do a bunch of European-come-lately usurpers. If the Israelis want their lands back, go take them back from the Germans who stole them during WWII.

Post a map of Palestinians being there before the Jews. I see two Jewish kingdoms in that map, and no Arabs and no Muslims. So it looks to me like the Arabs stole the land from the Jews.

The only way it's going to get solved is through a winner take all war. So I say both sides should do it and get it over with.

They all are Semites. They are all descendants of Abraham. The Jews left. The Palestinians stayed.

I don't see any Palestine. I see Jewish lands and I'm guessing they were full of Jews. So again the Jews were there first, and it was their land. And again the only thing that is going to clear this up once and for all is a good ol fashioned war in a winner take all. Loser shuts up, and to the winner go the spoils.

See that pic down below? It's built over a Jewish temple. If I were the Jews I would blow that thing to kingdom come and back.

Actually, it is built on the ruins of a temple built by Persian/Iranians later renovated by Herod on the ruins of Solomon's temple which the Babylonian/Iraqis destroyed after killing all the Israelite's and taking the Judian survivors into captivity.
