Despite what you may think, when a group who is dedicated to the eradication of a nation, who is our ally (despite what you many think of them) is a threat to the U.S. It is always a concern when terrorist groups like this and Hamas assume legitimate power in a nation. I would think that was basic information, despite the propaganda that you seem to believe. Even in this thread, which is about Egypt and the election results, which will thrust a questionable group into power, you take the opportunity to take a swipe at Israel. You are a hyperpartisan, just like I accuse Danno and Paul of being, no different.

You don't know jack about what I believe.

First of all, I didn't say anything about Hamas. However, it is Israel who helped create it and also funded it.

Second of all, as far as assuming legitimate power, well it was none other than U.S. president George W. Bush who encouraged Hamas to take part in the democratic process.

Meanwhile, you sure don't seem upset about Menachem Begin or Yitzhak Shamir turning from terror to politics.

Third of all, the article is quoted from a extremist Israeli settler publication (Arutz Sheva) which is so fanatical that it does not even have a license to broadcast in Israel (talk about hyperpartisan!)

Until you are willing to admit that much of this palestinian conflict is a personal vendetta against Israel, it is difficult to take you seriously. More than 70% of the land in dispute between Israel and Palestine was in fact taken by Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, yet you choose to focus your entire animus toward Israel.

Don't play coy, I have brought this up several times and you have merely ignored it. But for the sake of this argument, here is the Palestine Mandate map.

I wonder why you don't blame Syria, Lebanon et al for taking land from Palestine after the mandate? Could it be your own personal bias, or your insufferable hatred of Israel?

Please read my posts, yet again. I have made this claim to you, and Sofiyya, numerous times. Yet you both ignore my claim. You demand that Israel return lands to Palestine, yet you only make this demand of Israel, not Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. I have NEVER made the assertion that Palestine has claimed these lands for Palestine, only YOU. You regularly demand that Israel return land, but never the same demand of Syria, Lebanon, or Jordan, which leads me to believe that this is a personal vendetta, not a legitimate claim of displaced people.

I don't know how to say this any simpler.

Please show on a map, as per your claim, which land from Syria, Lebanon or Jordan is claimed by the Palestinians.

An Islamic run government........ what could go wrong?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I posted a map, you refuse to acknowledge it, as per usual. Get back to me when you are seriously discuss this issue, beyond your own personal vendetta against Israel.

The Syrian Border is relatively unchanged from that map FYI. (Not that Syria didn't try to take the Golan Heights) Jordan was formed as early as the 1920s, and at the end of the Palestinian Mandate, they claimed independence and were recognized by the UN.

On the topic of the president, he backed Mubarak until it started to become obvious that power was being lost. Any president, no matter what their doctrine would have done the same. You don't support someone as they are being ousted without risking the alienation of an entire country.

So no matter who or what the incoming movement looks like, the president must not only involve himself but give momentum to the uprising?
