Wow. That is a bad lesson to learn!

I don't think I'll email them, as it seems to take them several weeks to reply to emails anyway.

I called the NVC again this morning, I keep getting told that the case is in the building, but the operator has no visibility and to call back 20 working days after it was mailed.

I guess I'm mainly concerned at this point as most people on here seem to be getting Case Complete only a couple of days after submitting DS-230, however ours has taken nearly 2 weeks so far...

OMG. I command you to send the email now. That is way too long. Really it should not take 2 weeks. and if the operator cannot find it.

Send the email. Salin was right. It was due to resending documents and not just an email. So, please I beg you to email them with your name and birthday and his name and birthday and case number. and case number in the subject line. and simply state. I think you lost my package. can you find it and complete my case.

Hi,

A DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa form and supporting documentation was received by the NVC on the 2nd December 2011 for this case. (as per registered post tracking)

Since this date, both the beneficiary and petitioner have received two separate 'Checklist Cover Letters' requesting submission of a DS-230 Part 1. (First dated the 5th December 2011, second letter dated 7th December 2011).

It is my understanding that this has already been submitted and is under review. Can you please confirm this is correct or whether additional information is required by the NVC?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

It took the NVC nearly a month to assign case no. and generate the I-864 bill for us after we received the NoA 2. I truly hope doesn't take that long for you!

the OP's case was not reopened because but because he emailed NVc but because he RESENT already submitted documents!!! who does that?:bonk: I guess cos he can do electronic filing he figured it does not matter anyway he got the consequences( feel bad for them though) NvC replies their mail within 3business days at the most( I have done it multiple times and always consistent). But it is ur choice if you choose not to email. i have been following ur timeline cos we share almost same dates. Hopefully you get a CC soonest :)

It took the NVC nearly a month to assign case no. and generate the I-864 bill for us after we received the NoA 2. I truly hope doesn't take that long for you!

I just got a reply to my email:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received documentation for this case. Please allow at least 20

business days for the documents to be reviewed.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the

NVC (by telephone, mail, or email), all submitted fees and documents

will expire. If this occurs, your fees will need to be repaid and

documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the

immigration process.

This is the same response to my last email, must be a standard 'go away' reply. I guess we'll just have to sit tight... :(

Navyk was actually from India, which is a non-EP country, so he wasn't actually eligible to email documents.
