I just called NVC and they said my case is complete but they haven't updated it to complete because they are waiting for the fees to be paid. However, the operator said they have been paid and she will request them to update my case. She also said that they will be scheduling interviews the second week of January for February interviews. Please!!! Please!!!! Please!!! Let my husband interview in February!!!

Grats on the case complete!

And don't listen to operators when they say they only schedule during the second week of each month. It's a LIE. They schedule ALL month long. If you want proof, look at my own timeline. Mine was scheduled during the FOURTH week. So you could get your interview date tomorrow :) Just keep on calling every single day! Good luck!

Cairo scheduled interviews yesterday for fiance interviews from Sept and Oct NOA2 dates.

I do not know if they are done scheduling for the month. Quite a few times they give out interviews between the 13th and 15th of the month.

I hope you get one soon.

Call NVC and say you want it expedited like at USCIS and they will send it to cairo quick. All your stuff is done now so continue with your expedite.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

Oh, didn't notice you were going through Egypt. They've got a backlog at the moment, so it'll be a bit before you get your interview.

Did they not schedule any CR1 visas? I can remain hopeful and wait patiently, but the Embassy will not expedite the interview. I have already made the request and it was denied. I believe the Embassy concluded at this point it would not make much of a difference in time. :bonk:

Here is the pattern as i found on this thread for the way Cairo has given out interviews in the last 6 months. There were no spouses with case complete that I know of and I watch the egypt timelines closely.

And you should really join the Cairo thread too!!

Emails sentOR NVC----interview dates

June 29--------------early to mid august

July 13--------------Mid to end of August

Aug 13--------------early to sept 19

Aug 29th-----------sept 20 thru oct5

SEPT---------not one interview email FOR 6 WEEKS??

Oct 14th-------------early nov thru nov17

Oct 19th-------------nov 17- end of nov

Nov 3-------------for early to mid dec-21 dates

Nov 30th--------------jan dates

Dec 28th-------------------for Feb Fiance interviews only that I know of????

So I would expect within the next 2 days till 16 days the embassy will give out more interviews for Feb by this pattern they have.

This is probably a silly question, but I have heard mixed things... NVC asks for various original documents- I sent copies (non certified) of my birth certificate and full passport, and a certified marriage certificate to USCIS. My sponsor, gave me a photocopy of his passport as proof of citizenship (info page only).

My husband (beneficiary) has given me the police certificate and a certified copy of his birth certificate for his packet.

Are these documents acceptable, or will I have to provide the NVC with true originals of anything? More certified copies of anything?

Hey!

Be careful, we had an RFE after sending certified copies of our marriage certificate and beneficiary birth certificate. They have requested we send originals, which we now have.

In Australia there is a public position called 'Justice of the Peace'. This person has a stamp and can sign colour photocopies to say that the document is appears to be a true copy of the government issued document. This is satisfactory for most things within Australia and was ok for the I-130, however, for the CR1 application, they do require Originals.

Have a look at this website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Under the birth certificate section it says that all Immigrant visa applications require 'long form orginal'. I suggest you send originals, if we had, we would have been approved by now!

Good luck!

I (beneficiary) am gonna send the IV package from France. I'm still waiting on a police clearance too, so it's gonna be easier to send it all at once. Sending it to my husband when it arrives, and then having him send it to NVC would just delay us I think.

if mailing the documents from US is easier or faster (obviously) then that is ok. That is why NVC provides that opportunity to appoint someone as the choice of agent. so if the UCS ( and or petitioner ) is closer to NVC, then just appoint him/her as choice of agent on the DS 3032 form and then they can handle all payments and or mailing/receipt of documents.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

Well, I had my NOA2 2 weeks before yours and I'm still waiting :(

It took me a while to get my case number too. I called one day and spoke with a nice girl at NVC. I said to her, "Would it help if I bribed you with a box of Godiva truffles(lol)!" She said, "It would if I could do anything about entering in your case number, but its out of my hands!" I said, "Ok, well I really appreciate your time." We had a real light hearted, humorous kind of conversation. The next day, I had my case number. I'm not saying it had anything to do with it, and I'm sure it was a coincidence. I was kind of surprised when they said they had my case number though!

Hang in there. You will have it very soon :)

Good story!!

Unfortunately I tend to speak to obnoxious operators most of the time... Last time, my husband called, it was Friday, so a whole month since NoA2, and the guy dared to tell him : "it's only been 9 business days sir". :ranting:

Hoping for a case # this week!
