Daily call to NVC: no entered in system yet. What a surprise. Now they tell me it may take 20 business days from the date it was received, in our case Dec 12. That would mean around Jan 5. :clock:

In a way (and I insist on that part of the sentence), I'm kind of glad I have some paperwork missing for the DS230, if I had everything ready I'd be going nuts with this pointless wait. C'mon, even USCIS is able to assign a case number in a couple of days!!!

Could be a silly question but are you guys having your foreign spouse mail all of their information (DS-230) to the USC and then the USC mails it to NVC? Does the NVC care who the paperwork comes from as long as it's completed...?

I'm only asking because I am flying back to the US next week and trying to prepare all of the documents. So far I have his birth certificate, our marriage certificate, will get him to fill out a DS-230, and a few passport pictures of him. Unfortunately we are still waiting on his police clearance. But is there anything else I need to take with me--just to get this moving a bit faster?

I (beneficiary) am gonna send the IV package from France. I'm still waiting on a police clearance too, so it's gonna be easier to send it all at once. Sending it to my husband when it arrives, and then having him send it to NVC would just delay us I think.

What does need to be brought to the interview? I see things such as original copies for birth and marriage but the London Embassy should already have those since they should be sent with the paper work from the NVC.....correct?

Thank you! Just so happy we are finally moving along.

This is probably a silly question, but I have heard mixed things... NVC asks for various original documents- I sent copies (non certified) of my birth certificate and full passport, and a certified marriage certificate to USCIS. My sponsor, gave me a photocopy of his passport as proof of citizenship (info page only).

My husband (beneficiary) has given me the police certificate and a certified copy of his birth certificate for his packet.

Are these documents acceptable, or will I have to provide the NVC with true originals of anything? More certified copies of anything?

I would suggest bringing copies of everything you ever submitted. As well as evidence of your relationship.

What's mandatory though: passport, interview letter, passport pictures, medical results

For NVC, they require originals/certified copies of: the beneficiary's birth certificate and marriage certificate. As well as the original police certificate.

Thanks! Good to go then! ....if only they would give me our case number.

Just keep calling every day. You should probably be getting yours within the next week or two. Good luck!

For London the clinic will send the medical results to the Embassy. If you sent passport pics to NVC you shouldn't need them - I took extras just in case but they weren't asked for.

One less thing to bring then! In Canada, you pick up the results a few days after the medical and then bring it to the interview.

I just called NVC and they said my case is complete but they haven't updated it to complete because they are waiting for the fees to be paid. However, the operator said they have been paid and she will request them to update my case. She also said that they will be scheduling interviews the second week of January for February interviews. Please!!! Please!!!! Please!!! Let my husband interview in February!!!
