We're waiting for a case number here.

I have a question about NVC requirements for translation of documents: is it the same as USCIS? I translated all documents myself at the USCIS stage, can I do it too at NVC stage? I would save some time and a couple hundred euros...

If yes, do you have to add the little paragraph "I am fluent in the English and X language and I certify that this document blabla"? Or is it another formulation?

yup, you can put that letter of attestation in with your (emphasis on YOUR) translation.

A question related to AOS here: my husband has been living and working in France for 3 years. He did file his taxes with IRS to declare his income abroad every year, and the amount was above the limit of 20%>poverty. He will also start a new job in California in January and we have a copy of his letter of employment mentionning his salary, which is way above the limit. In our situation, will we need a co-sponsor?

In our situation, will we need a co-sponsor?

The threshold is 125% of the poverty line or greater in order to qualify as a sponsor. Furthermore, foreign income doesn't count (even though your husband filed taxes). You will likely require a joint sponsor in your situation.

OK, thanks for the insight. We're gonna have Colin's mom co-sponsor. She's a teacher and has steady income. She won't be part of the household, we won't be living there, so which form should she fill in? And her other son is living with her, but he's got a good job and he files his taxes separately as far as I know, will he still count as 1 person in her household?

I-864EZ can used only if the following 3 apply:

• Only the petitioner can use it.
  
• Only income is being used (no assets).
  
• The sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating on the underlying visa petition.
  

Laure&Colin, specific to your case, you can complete the I-864EZ if all of the above 3 points apply to you. However, your joint sponsor is only able to use the I-864.
