i have the same problem..i was a cop in germany and have to wait until iam citizen..i cant even start tcleose without being a citizen which really sucks...i work for the police dept as a civilian now and it helps to get in the door...dispatch hires also with greencard but the dps dispatch doesnt..the only places you can work as a cop with gc is alaska,hawai,colorado,new york san diego and i think idaho...all other states require citizenship...if u have questions mail me

I'd urge people to check with their own city/ state first before getting too down-hearted looking at Goldfee's list.

Yes, some states and cities do have a citizenship requirements for police officers, but there are further notable exceptions missing from his list including Chicago, and San Francisco, who allow LPRs. Additionally Portland, OR will employ GC holders if they will become citizens within 12 month of hiring. And LA will accept applications from anyone who has applied for citizenship.
