If Big Gov can make so many laws protecting us... from our selves, whats so crazy if private groups do the same thing, at least in Private groups you can just leave if it doesn't suite you..... ya can't do that when you are told to wear a bike helmet or buckle your safety belt or forced to pay inflated prices for smokes.

Anyway with the high rate of divorce being bad enough..... it is even twice that at the ten year mark for the White-wife/ Black-husband. (White wife-Hispanic husband had an even lower success rate).

Marital instability among interracial and same-race couples

A 2008 study by Jenifer L. Bratter and Rosalind B. King conducted on behalf of the Education Resources Information Center examined whether crossing racial boundaries increased the risk of divorce.[9] Using the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth (Cycle VI), the likelihood of divorce for interracial couples to that of same-race couples was compared. Comparisons across marriage cohorts revealed that, overall, interracial couples have higher rates of divorce, particularly for those that married during the late 1980s.[9] The authors found that gender plays a significant role in interracial divorce dynamics: According to the adjusted models predicting divorce as of the 10th year of marriage, interracial marriages that are the most vulnerable involve White females and non-White males (with the exception of White females/Hispanic White males) relative to White/White couples.[9] White wife/Black husband marriages are twice as likely to divorce by the 10th year of marriage compared to White/White couples, while White wife/Asian husband marriages are 59% more likely to end in divorce compared to White/White unions.[9] Conversely, White men/non-White women couples show either very little or no differences in divorce rates.[9] Asian wife/White husband marriages show only 4% greater likelihood of divorce by the 10th year of marriage than White/White couples.[9] In the case of Black wife/White husband marriages, divorce by the 10th year of marriage is 44% less likely than among White/White unions.[9] Intermarriages that did not cross a racial barrier, which was the case for White/Hispanic White couples, showed statistically similar likelihoods of divorcing as White/White marriages.[9]

With the case offered in the story one would imagine their odds of failure may even be higher than 2x as he is also an immigrant from a third world country which no doubt adds

as to the "cultural adjustment" .....assuming he is seeking marriage for the sake of love in the first place.

Why aren't they on VJ?

Which also makes me wonder what the VJ 10-year success rate is?

I dunno, my white wife/Hispanic husband parents celebrated 42 years of marriage this year. The parents of my best friend from college -- black mother/Jewish father -- celebrated 43 years two months ago. All of my friends whose parents are divorced have parents of the same race, with the exception of my boyfriend's parents. His father is white and his mother is Korean. She came over on a CR1 nearly 40 years ago, and they split when the BF was a little boy.

I would prefer to see these details broken down by socioeconomic class.

I would prefer we live in a society that didn't feel the need for these statistics.

I want to be entitled to the exact same amount of government help and benefits for food, housing, school, etc.. that people of color qualify for. No private #######, I want exactly the same chance of getting any government handouts on the US tax payers dime as people of color down to the exact penny.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Someone had to mock your insipid paranoia and hatred of American women.

Really? So she doesn't mean that those women are better? It is just a joke? Sarcasm?

Christ on a bike.

ETA: Even I have my own signature blocked. If you're offended, I suggest you do the same, but it would behoove you to turn on the sarcasm-detector once in a while. (Hint: my reply to slim was Level 0 on the detector; my signature is probably about a 8.61.)

Are there government subsidies that are based only on skin color and nothing else? I'm asking for real - I'm not sure if your being serious or not here.

I love all my sisters. Except the ones who cut me off in heavy traffic. And maybe the ones in Ugg boots. Especially if they're also wearing pyjama bottoms.

Apropos of this (and not the topic, although the couple were of different races), I was at the supermarket buying a stereotypical single woman's basket of goods (cat food; tampons; white wine) and the couple in front of me in line were both wearing pyjamas. I cannot bear this. Now, I was not looking my freshest after a 9 hour work day, but I still looked oodles more appropriately dressed* than they did. No pyjamas in public! Never! On either sex!

*In the interests of full disclosure, I was wearing stilettos.

I have no plans of going to school, collecting welfare, etc.. I'm trying to make a point. I know for a fact people of color get a near free ride for their entire schooling, Alaskan natives do get a free ride for all their schooling. And I know for a fact good people including firemen, pipe fitters, electricians, etc... have lost out on job opportunistic do to Affirmative Action and employers having to make a "quota" whether it be to a woman or person of color who was not as qualified for said job. In fact some of them had zero qualifications yet were hired anyways to make said quota.

Small business loans "SBA, is another joke that needs to be revamped and/or done away with imo. I'm tired of my tax dollars going to programs that do nothing for me other than help fck me when it comes to putting a roof over my families head and food in their bellies.
