hey everyone i need some urgent needed advice!!!

I just schedualed my medical appointment for january 4/2012 at the Woking Medical in Vancouver.

I went through the FAQ and realized I never got my Influenza shot before. So today I went into the drop in clinic after work and got it. I told the doctor I was getting the shot because I needed it for an Immigrant (k-1) visa after asking me why I was getting the shot.

I explained to the doctor I needed proof of getting this Influenza shot to show for my immigrant medical exam, and I asked if it would show up on my Medical passport. The doctor told me no, and all he gave me was a "Influenza Vaccine Record" card, with the doctors signature and dose, and the date I got it. From reading on the Woking medical site, having just "a doctors note" does not show enough proof. This card he gave me, will this be okay to bring to my medical in january?

ALSO..

Im 20 years old, I have my health passport from last year ( Which i need to get an updated one again soon) and Its showing I got my "TdaP" shot in 2006-01-30. I read on the Woking medical site that most people dont pass the medical due to not having an Updated TdaP shot. I phoned to see what drop in clinics (because I dont have a family doctor, no point of getting one now if im leaving to the USA soon)offerred the "TdaP" shot. NO OFFICE new what a TdaP shot was, which confused me. After having my influenza shot today I asked the doctor again if they offered the Tdap shot or Adacel or Boosterix (which it is also known as). The doctor told me girls only need to get it in school and then refused to talk to me or even give me that shot because he said I didnt need it...i kept insisting i need an updated version of tdap but he kept saying no.

WHERE WOULD I EVEN GO TO GET A TDAP SHOT? drop ins never know wat im talking about!!!

does anyone have any experiences with these shots or showing proof?

please help ide REALLY appreciate it!!!!

When I was in BC I got my booster shots done at a community health clinic: http://immunizebc.ca/diseases-vaccinations/diptheria

If you can't get one there, lookup the location for a travel health clinic near you. They'll have them there.

Having a card from your Influenza is fine as long as it shows the date and the dose. You can only get Tdap at the travel clinic downtown Vancouver. *However* since you had your last Tdap shot in 2006 you are covered (you get Tdap once every 10 years). Just make sure you bring proof that you had your Tdap shot in 2006. If you want to be absolutely sure e-mail Woking Medical and ask them if having Tdap done in 2006 will make you covered for that immunization but every person I spoke to before my medical said once every 10 years.

I don't really recommend going to the travel clinic because they gave me my Tdap shot in the wrong spot which caused me to get a welt the size of a baseball (NO JOKE) for a month!!!

The record you have is fine, you are up to date on the TdaP shot.

The K-1 is not an immigrant visa, though some consulates treat the application for it as that, it is not.

Vaccinations are NOT required for the issuance of the visa. They ARE required for the AOS after you enter and are married and it is usually cheaper and easier to get them done before you arrive. But is it not required for the visa issuance
