Got interview letter today. It's on March 16th.

The letter stated that we MUST BRING certain items to the interview including evidence of Selective Service Registration. Does everyone else have this? My husband was told at the embassy during our K1 interview that he wouldn't need to do this because of his age but we have no proof of that.

First of all, congrats on the interview date :D Seeing the date as the 16th, I'm kind of hopeful to get mine soon too.. kind of wonder if they're holding me off for now since I am not eligible to take the oath until half March :)

As for your letter, at what age did your husband enter the US? Only those within the age of 18 and 26 have to register for selective service, if he was 26 or older then he has no worries for this as they obviously know when he entered the US :)

12/19/11 - Received by USCIS

12/21/11 - NOA date

12/22/11 - Check cashed

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

03/17/12 - Received interview letter

04/17/12 - Interview - No decision, application under further review

04/17/12 - Biometrics

04/25/12 - Placed in line for oath scheduling (so I'm approved yay!)

04/27/12 - Received oath ceremony date

05/09/12 - Oath ceremony!!

Thanks :D Hubby has now decided it is time to start studying :P

He was 26 when he entered and they didn't say anything to us at immigration at the time. The guy at the embassy (during the k1 interview) had said it was ok and we didn't need to register him but after I saw the interview letter I started thinking maybe he was suppose to...I feel better now. I will now start worrying about getting scheduled for the oath ceremony.

Hopefully they will schedule your interview soon. I think in some states it can take awhile to schedule the oath ceremony after the interview so they may not hold off. I will guess that your interview letter will come towards the end of next week. B-)

I got a Yellow Letter today from the USCIS Asking me for an ORIGINAL INTERNAL REVENUE Service, Form 1722 listing tax information for the past three years or copies of the income tax form I filed.. I sent the copies with the N400.. why are they asking for this again?

Form 1722? What is that exactly?

Either way, they seem to ask for originals, which is probably what they want to see as you send them copies :)

And yay, UPS brought me my certified original copy and certified sworn translation of the verbal court order. Hopefully this is indeed all they need, it's all I possibly can get anyways. Either way, I'm ready for my interview, hopefully the wait wont be too long now :)

Hi guys,

I checked my online status and got this update:

On February 21, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. Please check the website for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

This is a different notification than the ones that actually state that you have been scheduled for the interview. My question: will the online status be updated to say I've actually been scheduled for the interview or will I just receive an interview letter whenever I'm actually scheduled? From anyone's experience, how long after this online status (being "in line" for scheduling) does it change to actually being scheduled for the interview, if this stage is updated further.

Yes, your online status will be updated and will say "Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview."

From anyone's experience, how long after this online status (being "in line" for scheduling) does it change to actually being scheduled for the interview, if this stage is updated further.

In my case, it took about a week.

In my case, it took about a week.

Mine says "On January 6, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview". It has not been updated since :(
