I-130 Processing Time

I was curious in finding out what is the usual processing time from NOA1 to NOA2. I'm seeing avg of 106 days based on the members that provided their data on this site. Usually, if there are no RFEs, i'm guessing that 3.5 - 4 months is realistic to get NOA2? Got my NOA1 on Aug 19...and considering thanksgiving and holiday season...can i get NOA2 approved by mid december? Or chances are i may have to wait till Jan?

In a perfect world I'm thinking you have a good 2 months to go.

I've been waiting since April some have been approved in a short time. I wish you a quick journey as this is painful when it drags on so long.

Terri

ooops didn't read it all. I'm K1 hope yours is fast.

Depends on how fast the service center is cranking out the applications.

See my timeline below. I was approved by USCIS very quickly but it took FOREVER for our case to get to NVC and get the process going there.

We still finished in 7.5 months which is pretty fast. It's all relative, though all you can do is start preparing for the next step now and be patient.

Yes, sorry mine is a CR-1. So i'm hoping that i hear something in December, but after that, NVC should be way quicker. I'm already ready with all the paperwork and just waiting for my application to get to NVC. I will pay the bills online as well.

I'm guessing:

NOA 1 - Aug 19

NOA 2 - Dec 14?

NVC Complete - Feb 15?

Interview - Mid March?

You are waiting for your petition to arrive at the NVC. I put a section of Dave's post below in bold when you say, "NVC should be way quicker"

it took FOREVER for our case to get to NVC and get the process going there.

djromi, after you receive your NOA2, you could still have a wait before you receive a case number (I didn't receive a case number until 37 days had passed after I received my NOA2). Only when the file is in the system and a case number assigned, that's when things will move lightening fast compared to USCIS.

Yup, once you get your case number at NVC the process is fairly quick. The key is getting you case scanned into the system to assign a case number. Until that happens you play the waiting game that we all get good at in this process.

I filed I-130 petition on Oct. 29th 2010. Husband had interview May 13th 2011. Paperwork was sent back to USCIS for further review on June 29th 2011. No denial slip was given at interview. My husband had no problems answering any questions and had plenty of proof the relationship was legitimate. I called USCIS on 11/25/2011 to get information pertaining to the case. I was informed that I would be notified by December 29th 2011 with their decision.

Well we are July filers, USCIS has not even touched July. Most likely July filers will get NOA2 in Dec, But some lucky Aug filers could get approved too. So good luck to you my friend.
