Hi friends,I am anxious now as I had my interview in Montreal on Nov 23rd and have not got any information about the visa and returning documents. I check CSC website frequently and there is nothing there and did not get anything from local DHL. Anyone get your waybill number or othere information about your visa? I just want to make sure that i am not the only one waiting for it.

Thanks

Tracy

Many of us got our visa one week from our appointment date... I had my interview on nov. 2, a wednesday, and received an email on the following tuesday night at 10:30 from "Loomis" saying that the parcel was picked up and giving me the waybill tracking number. Then at 8 a.m. in the morning, London Ontario DHL (LOOMIS) called and said the parcel was there for pickup. I didn't even have time to track it! You should get an email/phone call soon!

I know how you're feeling, I'm extremely anxious right now. I too had my appointment on the 23rd in Montreal. I think we were sitting behind you guys at one point.

I called DOS this morning, and I was told they JUST printed off my visa today.

I have been communicating with Rayoflight from this site, she too had hers on the 23rd. She was the first one in line, she emailed me last night and told me she received notice via email from Loomis/DHL that they have her visa but it's not ready to be picked up. She had also mentioned that it went straight to her Junk mail so be careful of that too. I'm sure the rest of us will be getting emails soon. Good luck to all!

I always reference the Montreal Guide that sticky'd on the front of the Canada forum. It has allot of info.

DOS number is: 1-202-663-1225 and to get to a visa specialist, it’s 1 and then 0. This operator will want your MTL # and sometimes both the names and dates of birth for both petitioner and beneficiary.

Ask them if your visa has been printed. Keep in mind that, that's pretty much all the can tell you, they won't know anything else. But it's good to know that your visa has been printed off, at least.

To those that had their interviews on Nov 23 keep in mind that the Consulate was closed Thursday and Friday for the American holidays. I'm sure you will all hear good news soon :)

Should have been open Friday.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Good news, my friends. I just get an email from DHL and they have picked up my passport from consulate general. Thanks for your comfort. I was really nervous this afternoon as both my fiance and I called DOS and they said that it is not printed yes and it will take few days to process. We really need little bit patience. Hope other vjers will get what they are waiting soon. Good Luck!
