OBAMA‘S APPROVAL RATING FINALLY DROPS BELOW CARTER’S: WORST OF ANY PRESIDENT AT THIS STAGE OF HIS TERM

It’s been a slow, steady decline but President Barack Obama‘s job approval rating has finally dipped below Jimmy Carter’s, earning Obama the worst approval rating of any president at this stage of his term in modern history.

Gallup’s daily presidential job approval index put the current president‘s job approval rating at 43 percent compared to Carter’s 51 percent.

US News adds:

Back in 1979, Carter was far below Obama until the Iran hostage crisis, eerily being duplicated in Tehran today with Iranian protesters storming the British embassy. The early days of the crisis helped Carter’s ratings, though his failure to win the release of captured Americans, coupled with a bad economy, led to his defeat by Ronald Reagan in 1980.

According to Gallup, here are the job approval numbers for other presidents at this stage of their terms, a year before the re-election campaign:

– Harry S. Truman: 54 percent.

– Dwight Eisenhower: 78 percent.

– Lyndon B. Johnson: 44 percent.

– Richard M. Nixon: 50 percent.

– Ronald Reagan: 54 percent.

– George H.W. Bush: 52 percent.

– Bill Clinton: 51 percent.

– George W. Bush: 55 percent.

To make matters worse, Gallup reports that Obama’s overall job approval rating ranks among the worst in American political history, averaging 49 percent. Only three former presidents have had a worse average rating at this stage: Carter, Ford, and Harry S. Truman.

It might also be worth noting that no president in history, save the unpopular Truman, won re-election with such ratings. And, as U.S. News points out, Truman did so by running an anti-Congress campaign that Obama’s team is using as a model.

Strangely, the current climate in Iran is eerily similar to what it was when Carter held the highest office in the land.

And, he will probably get reelected. The left is so convinced the right is going to cheat by some sneaky means, that they will double their outright efforts to get felons, non-USC's, dead people, and multiple-precinct-registered-voters out to the polls to vote several times each. Meanwhile, they have teams of lawyers to keep Democrat-friendly precincts open past closing time, while sending armed militant thugs out to white majority precincts to keep voters from being intimidated by evil men in black suits looking for Alpha Centaurians.

Seriously it seems like Americans have no sense of history and a 2 week memory, and we need someone like this every 30 years or so to remind us "Oh yeah! THAT's why we shouldn't vote for these morons!"

Fortunately our country has been spared from the type of loss it takes to burn something into our memory forever.

That said, Carter may have been one of the most decent, good intentioned, honest and intelligent people ever to hold the office of President. He was a lousy President, until now, the worst. But a good man.

And I always wonder if he really was that bad or if he just had bad advice and listened to it. I am sure he is too classy to blame it on someone else. And until recently he has been a good "ex-President" getting his hands dirty to help poor people. Now he seems to be getting more "political" which given his record is proof we can't remember sh*t.

When he got that "3am call" he should have said "the Marines are on the way, Their arrival will be preceeded by the biggest display of ordanance the world has ever seen, have the hostages cleaned up and ready to go home or your country will be obliterated within 24 hours. If the hostages are injured, Your fault, my fault, anyone's fault, YOU will be obliterated"

Also had he stood up to Brezhnev, not only would they have NOT gone into Afghanistan but the USSR would have collapsed 10 year sooner, but when he made "deals" with them regarding their moves in other countries, he gave them the green light and showed the US would really do nothing. He could not even "rattle a sword" worth a #######. It is amazing now to study this and realize that his actions in but a few instances, simple decisions, made the world a whole lot more misrable for a whole lot more people for a whole lot longer than needed.

I will give it to Obama that he has not hesitated to take head shots on the enemy when necessary. But that is not enough to make me vote for him.

As much as Obama has p*ssed me off...and he has big time, I still haven't gotten over the eight years I had to suffer with Bush jr. I'm hesitant to vote for any of the Repub presidential candidates after what that pr*ck helped do to this country. If there really is a h*ll, then Bush jr. has a room waiting for him there.
