temporary EAD on arrival at POE

I arrived last week at JFK and the officers said I had my temp EAD stamp on the back of my I-94 form. Would that be the smudged red stamp that is pratically illegible apart from having the expiry date written on top with black pen?

16 December 2006- biometric appointment in Charlotte, NC

20 Jan 2007 -AP approved

24 Jan -EAD approved

28 June -Green card ordered

7 July wedding celebrations in Scotland

Thanks. I actually have the same job i had in the UK (working from home)... wanted to get the EAD on entry so that I did not have to give that up quite yet.
