Hi Welcome to the forum.

When did you get your green card?? This is very important question. If you get your Green Card recently you have to wait minimum 2 yrs to complete the process. You first apply I-130 form and follow the VJ forum you will understand what needs to be done.

Thank You,

Spouse Priority Date: 10/15/2010

Assuming that you didn't get your green card by marriage to someone else. You will fill out the I130 and all the forms that go with it and then you start waiting. As an LPR you have to wait for a visa number and that will take about 3 years.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Recommend you wait till you become US citizenship and then sponsor your husband. Because the process time is much shorter that a green card holder.

Why would she wait? She submits I-130 (same for USC or LPR) and waits. If she naturalizes before the PD number becomes current, all that is needed is to contact NVC and fax/send them a copy of her naturalization certificate. Within a month or so her husband would be scheduled for an interview.

Agreed with the previous post. File now, if citizenship occurs before his visa number becomes current the petition can be upgraded.

Actually if she came on DV 3 years ago she has 2 to wait to file on the 5 year rule for USC. If she does the I130 now the clock will start and it is about a 3 year wait and hubby will be here , if she goes for USC in 2 year and it take 6 months to process USC and then an I 130 which takes about 9 months , She is looking at about 3.5 years to wait which is a little longer. I would file now.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
