Alright following is the reply from the embassy of the USA Tokyo regarding our case status:

Thanks for the inquiry, We are reviewing your case and have still not resolved all our questions regarding the info provided. We are not able to proceed with processing your case untill we recieve respponse from other US governmental agencies. This proces adds significant time to the processing of a case. We regret the extra time involved, but we will contact you as soon as these issues are resolved.

Please feel free to comment, advice or give personal experience regarding similar conditions. Also one question does it look like AP/AR bullshit? I guess not?

I'm no guru but that sounds a lot like AP/AR, since other agencies are involved.

I am not a guru either. But, I agree with Devilette. When other Government agencies are mentioned, that sounds very much like security checks.

Yes we had sent them the BC last Thursday. We contacted them on Tuesday and got this fax. Well I havent been interviewed yet. The security checks are only for special cases or its done for every applicant? Well do I make myself some kind of hopeful that since the documention was completed last week so if they are going through usual procedure now?

Gugu24,

As I understand it, everyone goes through security checks. If no name hits arise, you are on your way.

Conversely, if the name arises with a hit, they must gather all available information and adjudicate the information they receive.

Can you send a fax back to them with questions? Such as, was the BC acceptable? Am I in security checks and so forth. I would keep it brief.

I remember you advising that a call goes to a third party for a fee. The you get a "party line" answer. The fax number should be on the fax they sent you.
