DS 156 and 156K at interview

Taking a closer look at the Montreal interview confirmation letter there's mention of these two documents being necessary. Obviously they were submitted with my Packet 3, and I don't have copies of them. Sigh. I don't want to go into panic mode but I'm about this --> <-- close.

Also, something else I'm wondering about. The letter of intent, letter from his boss about pay, i-134 and i-864 from my FI are all being mailed to me from across the world. There's reasons we couldn't get this stuff earlier, I promise but I probably won't get them in time due to wonderful remote FPOs. The Navy doesn't care about our sense of urgency. He is scanning me copies of them so that I have that. I'm fully prepared for an RFE for these documents in ink before I get my visa, but is there a chance they'd accept this?

I've been asking a ton of questions lately, I'm sorry if it's all redundant and been answered before but I tried searching, it wasn't coming up with anything for me. Thanks.

I just had my interview on Monday and I was not asked for the DS156 or DS156K. In the interest of being "over-prepared", I would suggest you fill out new ones and bring them with you just in case Montreal lost their copy.

I'm not sure about your second question but I'm sure someone with a similar experience will be able to answer.

They understand the military issue - I was terrified of this myself ( husband is military )

When you go to the interview just be prepared for them to be displeased, stay calm, explain the situation with the papers and mailing from his FPO etc. They may just accept the copys, do you possibly have a copy of his paperwork for being out there? that would help a lot too.

The worst that will happen is they ask you to send the original papers when you get them, just delaying the issuance of your visa. The best is they will accept the copys with your explanation and you will get your visa soon after.

Thanks. I'm not too stressed about that to be honest. I don't think I have a copy of his orders. I'm doing my best with what's available to me. Hopefully I get the ink documents in time, but I'm not holding my breath. If they ask me to submit them later so be it, I can do that. I've got lots of time before my planned move. I was just curious if theres a chance they might accept it.

Crysal and Tommy, thank you as well. For the DS 156 and 156K I guess I'll just re-do and hope I have the same information as I did then. I don't want any discrepancies if I can avoid it. I guess I'll just cross my fingers I don't need it. I wish I just had copies!

And the paralegal couldn't figure out why we didn't want to wait until February on getting this stuff together. So glad we wasted our money.
