Neither conservatioves NOR Liberals "want" a smaller government, except in the areas they want the government to have less control of. Neither "want" to eliminate the problem of illegal immigration, neqither "want" to solve the problems of funding our government, they just want to control different things with the tax code.

Thanksgiving is a secular holiday for most, and a religious holiday for some. Can't you just be happy with a 4 day weekend and a big dinner on Thursday? I believe you used the word obligation originally. When you change that word to tradition it makes a completely different argument.

Not sure where I used "Obligation" but there are all kinds of obligations: Moral ethical, Spiritual, civic..... still don't see any big-gov in any of this.

The President is free to disregard every tradition which comes with the office.

And the leader of such a wonderful country should stay the heck out of it and people who believe in God should not whine when the leader does not mention God.

Practice your religion as you choose in your home, restrict your family in your home, worship God at your dinner table or your church, ban abortion in your home, outlaw sex toys in your bedroom, leave the rest of us out of it.

So many of these stupid "problems" could so easily be fixed yourself, just do it. You do not want your kids getting sex education in school? Teach them yourself before the school does. You do not want the school giving condoms to your kids? Then give them some yourself. You want them to pray every day...do it at home.
