Tuesday, my husband had his interview at the American Embassy in Cairo. He said he answered all the questions correctly and they asked who was my brother. He said his name and they gave him a sheet that was for the IR1 and it read that they needed I-864 and I-864a from my brother who is my household member and also my co-sponsor. They also needed proof of ongoing relationship which I gathered in 7 years of e-mails, chats, phone logs, and the itinerary from both trips I made in 2008 and 2010. I stayed two months there each time. Well, yesterday, I completed those forms in blue ink and signed in blue ink. Also, my brother completed it in blue ink also. I even added three years of tax returns with w-2's for both me and my co-sponsor and tax transcripts just in case. My husband and I known each other for 7 years and have been married three years. We were at first Cr1, but they gave him the sheet for IR1 at the interview with the requested additional information.

1. Was it okay for my co-sponsor and I to complete the forms with blue ink for the consulate?

2. Is it normal for the consulate to request additional information of ongoing relationship? As far as I know, the only flags we have are getting married during the first visit and religion. We both are 25 years old and have finished college.

3. Is all the information I sent sufficient or should I have sent more? My husband will add the photos we took on my second visit and cards I've sent for the holidays. Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

He said that the woman kept his passport, but did not tell him whether or not he was approved or on AP. I just want to know also is it possible for him to get his visa after we send the information in.

They need your hubby to present the proofs they are asking and you should be fine,, in the phils, from what i know, an indicator that an applicant may have been denied is if the passport is returned.. im sure your application is in good terms.. just submit what they need :D

unfortunately, your husband will be put into AP, its mandatory for Egypt (as well as Syria, where my fiance is from)

i believe the embassy in cairo has an online AP-checker. you can put your hubby's passport number in there and it will tell you if you are in AP and it will be updated once he is approved.

my fiance got a 221g after his interview, requesting further information (taxes and a military paper). we sent the documents, then got a call from the embassy saying that they were sending us a paper. after waiting a week and paying $25 to receive the paper, it just said that our case is in AP and once the status changes online, we should send in his passport.

i don't see any problem with using blue ink (strange to me, but it seems like they basically ONLY use blue pens in the middle east...i probably only noticed this since i was a teacher there and work at staples here in the states hahaha)

it sounds like you submitted all the info they will need! best of luck and i hope everything moves quickly for you!

My husband had his interview Oct.26 he was given a yellow slip 221g stating we needed a new co-sponsor, my husband said interview went well (our case was re-affirmed btw) he said co said "he believes our relationship is bona-fide"(thats why we were denied the first time around on our interview)co said everything is ok just new co-sponsor. but co didn't keep my husband's passport its only been 11 days since we submitted our new co-sponsor's info. still waiting but now I'm wondering why they didn't keep my husband's passport?! When I called DOS I was told consulate received our documents and they are still reviewing she use the term administrative review. I have been googling trying to find the difference between adiminstrative review vs. administrative processing

Admin review is also part of AP.... its when they review documents or your case more closely... once they complete the review they may have to complete other parts of AP.. like name checks if they have to do that but then again maybe after they do the review they can finalize everything and issue the visa without much more wait time.
