Vancouver k1 Still waiting for Visa......

My fiance had his interview in Vancouver last Tuesday. He had his medical on Wednesday and dropped it off right away. Everything went well - no problems at all!

I called the DoS on Monday and we were told that the visa had been issued! I called DHL and they told us that if it was printed on Friday (it was) that it would probably be there on Monday or Tuesday. Now it is Wednesday evening and we still haven't heard anything from DHL or the embassy.

My fiance has been staying with me (I live 2 min from Canadian border, in the U.S.) so he has nowhere to stay in Canada. We are hoping and praying that we can spend Thanksgiving together at home.

Any advice or information?

It took almost 3 weeks for me to get my passport from the Vancouver consulate. I think there was a delay due to Canadian Thanksgiving, then about 1.5 weeks was my being lazy and eventually getting them to deliver it from my DHL pickup.

Tell your fiance to check his email though, I had an email from the Vancouver consulte/DHL almost every step of the way. If not, check the website where he booked his interview. If there is a Waybill Number it should be available for pickup.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for the advice! We haven't heard anything from anyone. I emailed Vancouver and they said: "As I mentioned to your fiancé, when DHL has the package they will e-mail him to pickup his package with a waybill number."

I have checked the usvisa-info.com site (where we scheduled the interview) every day as well and nothing has changed. Th only info I have gotten is from DoS and that was when they told us it was issued on Friday (the 19th).

Should I email Vancouver again? I feel so helpless! We were told it would take 3-4 business days!

My Visa from Vancouver took 2 weeks. It took the consulate a week to issue it and another week for DHL to deliver because they sent it to the wrong city. Keep checking the DHL website if you have a waybill number, DHL doesn't seem to be very reliable!

American Holidays. Doubtful any visas will be moving anywhere while the embassy is closed for holidays.

They observe Canadian and American Holidays.

Nope, we haven't heard anything except for when I emailed them. I wish I could just go to Vancouver and pick it up! I guess there's no hope that they would let us do that?

Hmm.. yeah I don't know. Like I said I got emails from them. Maybe check his junk email folder??

Emails are like this:

Dear XXX,

Your passport has been picked up from the Consular Section and within the next few days you will be able to pick it up at:

DHL Burnaby HOLD FOR PICKUP

5499 REGENT ST

BURNABY, BC

(This is the first email I got, sent OCT 12, my interview was OCT 7 it also included a Waybill number and a tracking link)..

Did he select a DHL location for pickup?

Inky is probably right though. They did seem to take their time getting things done regardless of holidays.
