No idea. Questioning religion and how people practice it, that's a valid criticism but I've never understood the need to denigrate GOD.

Christians, certainly in the USA are evangelical

That means they want to spread their message which is a valid thing to do and so we non believers seek to spread our message to save your lives being wasted in crawling to a non existent superstition

One way to do that is to call this non existent god out so that when the lightning doesn't strike, the believers might see that its all a childish fairy tale

That is why we constantly refer to the idea of god being childish and silly and a primitive and superstitious idea

Now let me respond to this idea that your loving and christ like god is going to skewer me and roast me for ever for believing in evolution like the rest of the world outside this extreme theocracy. This pain and viciousness is going to be carried out in order to prove that god is loving - well it's self evident that that I am not going to sign up for this cult of fear that seeks to make people comply by threats of pain never ending. I feel truly sorry for religious people wasting their lives but as long as they don't threaten my life or that of abortion doctors etc, I say it's your wasted time so carry on because it keeps the roads free for me to motorbike on a Sunday

We criticize dictators who keep their people in line with threats of violence, and then the religious people applaud their god and egg her on to do the same thing in perpetuity - inconsistent ?

No logic or common sense can enter the religious region of their brains so it is of no use to try to speak to them about their religion (and why theirs is right but the 100s of religions before and after theirs is wrong).

My religious belief comes from decades of solemn thought and reason - theirs comes from indoctrination by their parents and into their parents beliefs in almost EVERY case

I think that is a wicked abrogation of their duty to themselves to go through their one life with as much intelligent understanding as they can muster

Religious people are traitors to themselves and their one life, and its pure laziness mixed with craven cowardly fear that they refuse to expose their washed brains to the sunlight of reason

The one good thing about it is that catholic girls enjoy sex more than the others because it is dirtier and filled with guilt - and that gives them a BUZZ

..then its digging claws were also useful for killing wildebeeste - very tiny wildebeeste

so its digging claws were an in-between stage to killing claws and this is how they changed function

The guy is saying that simple cells can work at doing something else and that later enables them to do things that are more and more complex until we end up with the final pinnacle of evolution - W's brain

Its like swinging from one tree to another to find our way upwards -changing what we were doing until the the climbing hands are used to steer cars. We didn't evolve car steering hands in one go and gaaaard didn't create us with car steering hands, but these climbing hands are an essential step to what we will have in billion years if Rick Perry doesn't get his hands on the nuclear button in the meantime.

That was I guess worth a mini-chuckle, now answer the question please.

Everyone gets the concept of fish slowly working their way on to land slowly evolving arms. But a tie clip and mouse trap are so radically different in purpose, asking what those in between stages where like, I think is fair.

The tie clip no doubt in someway lives off the host in which it is attached, the Mouse trap catches it's food for sustenance.... how did it survive for those few million years when it released from the tie and before the trigger was formed?

Is it possible this little creature for millions of years evolved a trigger devise though during this time it could not even use it,

after that point did it realize -Darn this ain't gonna work,we need something to hold this spring back and then work on evolving the spring restraint bar for another few million?

You must be careful in using the blunderbuss approach to criticize religion. Threats of eternal hellfire are what they are, but to say that religious people are so afraid of it that they act out of fear neglects to consider what exactly religion is. Religion is a source of comfort in an increasingly complex world, that is the Divine gift. Now you might opine that you are into science but science is theories, ideas of what might exist. Why do we even have science and why does the universe have a set of arbitrary laws that seem to govern it? Look, you don't dig religion and I hate people who misuse religion to inflict their own wishes on others. Science is one thing, I'm not disputing that, what is of greater concern is that only the wise will admit, "I don't know." I'm not very wise but I know just a bit about science and religion and I'm not afraid to say that I just don't know enough to reconcile things.
