(L)Hi Everyone!

Okay so looking for any advice anyone has to share.

I have been with my girlfriend for over a year now and she's perfect in every way, she means the world to me!

We speak every day and get on so well, feels like we have been together for years.

She lives in Texas and i live in Scotland, we met on twitter and ever since that i knew she was the one.

I love her so much, words cannot fully describe.

I am hoping to move over to Texas next year to start my life with her.

I was looking for advice on the best and quickest way to go about it, I want everything to be perfect and go about it the proper and legal way. I cant wait to be with her! :D

Anyone's advice would be so helpful and i would be very grateful!

Thank you for listening

Advice - Read the guides carefully and then choose the visa that best fits your particular situation. Most people will probably suggest you get married and file for IR-1/CR-1.

Whichever process you choose do yourself a favor and take quick off your list of expectations and replace it with patience and understanding.

Good luck!

This is a critical question that I failed to ask.

Actually, I think the critical question is whether the OP, "Amy" is a girl wanting to immigrate to be with her "girlfriend". US Immigration law does not currently provide a relationship based immigration path for same sex couples.

If your real name is Amy and you're a female, unfortunately same-sex couples do not receive the same immigration privileges. She lives in Texas, which is another problem because Texas doesn't legally recognize same-sex marriages. If you want to move from Scotland, then you'll need to find a suitable visa for you.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

I was wondering too if OP, "Amy", actually was a girl. Unless, OP uses alias, nickname, or username. I agreed another posters, same-sex couple can't apply either CR1/IR1 or K-1 to moved permanently to US.

Ahh after looking at your profile it appears you may have to go another way. As has been previously stated there is no visa options for same-sex relationships. You can visit on a tourist or VWP entry. Longer term you could look into attending school in the US.

Good luck!

Unfortunately the US doesn't allow same-sex relationships for the purpose of immigration.

It might be that you will have to get a student visa, or a work visa. I would suggest the student visa first, then try for a work visa. Work visas can sponsor GC's so that might be your only choice.

The only other option is to move to a country where same-sex immigration is allowed. Sorry :(
