Mine is on December 9th at 11am. I'm planning to arrive early though. Did I understand correctly that it's first come, first served no matter what time your interview is scheduled?

Look here.

I'm not sure, though, if you're specifically looking for Montreal interviews .

Different people say different opinions in terms of interview time. Well, my wife's interview at 11 as well, but on 8th, and we're planning to show up there at 7-8 (not at 6 at all). Hopefully, she won't be turned back and asked to come at 11 or something like that.

I just had mine yesterday. Mine was at 8 AM and we arrived at 7:45. There were already like about 15 people ahead of us. Honestly, I would recommend you arrive 20 minutes before your interview time, but not any earlier. It doesn't matter if you arrived first or last. The way they operate in Montreal, everyone basically waits the same amount of time. It's like clock work, all perfectly choreographed. When we finally got into the waiting room, no one was there to see anybody but around 8:30 or so this lady at the window started giving out numbers to everyone. Once everyone started getting their numbers, it got the ball rolling and people were coming in and out. It really doesn't matter if your first or last. Arrive 20 minutes before the schedule time and you'll be fine.

It's not first come first serve. Because we were out before this couple that was ahead of us. Once our interview was done they had just been called up to start theirs. So it doesn't matter if your before someone else, it's pretty much random. They started seeing ppl around 8:30 .. we were out at around 10:30. So You're going to be there for about 2 hours at the most.

Be careful showing up early. If you have an early morning appointment you'll be fine, but there are more and more stories of people with late morning/early afternoon appointments being turned away and being told to come back later and closer to their appointment time.

I just want to wish you all good luck! The interview is seriously a piece of cake :)

Why is it some ppl say it is cake, yet others tell you Montreal is harder then other consulates??

I have read in other posts that Montreal is hard on people about proving US domicile....Which in my case is kind of a concern since even though my spouse is USC, she has not been a US resident in almost 40 years. Obviously no one in their right mind would go through this whole process just to not end up going when all is said and done. Weird, maybe they are just easier on people who have a fiance or spouse who is already a resident.

Well, a large portion of interviewees are K1's who usually don't have to provide evidence of domicile- for them it's usually a piece of cake. Maybe Montreal is hard on evidence of domicile because otherwise the visas could get abused somehow? I'm not sure how that would work but they must have their reasons. Just because it's Canada doesn't mean that fraud doesn't occasionally happen. I can't speak for other consulates but my impression with Montreal is that if you gather sufficient evidence and cross your t's and dot your i's they'll approve you. Have you checked out the evidence of domicile thread pinned at the top of the forum? There's lots of useful information in there. Preparation is everything :)

Tomorrow morning is the day! So nervous. Everything seems to be in order and I cannot think of any reason for a denial. Hopefully the interviewer will feel the same way toward my fiancee.

Good luck!! I just finished my interview on Monday...it was much easier than I expected. One question that they asked me...which caught me off guard a bit was "what made you decide you wanted to marry an American?" I kinda just laughed and said, I don't think it was specific to marrying an American but more so marrying "my fiancé's name". That surprised me a little...though we were kidding around with the interviewer so I don't think it was a very serious question.

I got approved btw! Good luck again!!
