If you came here on a K1 visa you do have an alien number, it is located on your visa has a letter A and is usually printed in red.

Oh really!....Would that be the number underneath "Annotation" on the K1 Visa? or there is ONE number in red on my K1 which begins with a letter C.... Thank you

Your alien number is written on the back of your I-94 and also appears on your NOA2 and your K1 under "annotation" (in black, starts with A).

The C number on your K-1 (in red) is needed in Part 3A on the I-485 (it is your "non-immigrant visa number").

NO IT's NOT!! The number in red is the VISA number.

The red number is your visa number.

Go look at your K1 NOA2. The A number is above the beneficiaries name. The number might be located elsewhere (visa, I-94) but ONLY trust the NOA2. There are often typos on the visa and I-94.

Your alien number is written on the back of your I-94 and also appears on your NOA2 and your K1 under "annotation" (in black, starts with A).

The C number on your K-1 (in red) is needed in Part 3A on the I-485 (it is your "non-immigrant visa number").

Trust ONLY the NOA2. The one written on my I94 was wrong. He missed a digit. The one on my visa was correct but it's been wrong in many peoples cases (one person I remember had it wrong on the visa AND the I-94 and was all kinds of confused because of it). The one on the visa is also sometimes the A number of the petitioner if they're a naturalised USC.

Again, trust ONLY the NOA2.

No you shouldn't. The instructions state: "name and alien number printed lightly on back in pencil or felt pen"

hi there, I dont have an alien registration number nor a social security number yet... :help:

A number I've explained.

As for SSN.. as a K1 you're eligible for a SSN. You have until December 11 to apply (you need to apply before the 76th day you've been here). Go to the SSA tomorrow and apply. The guide is here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

If they try and tell you you're ineligible they're wrong. Make sure you ask to speak to a supervisor. If the supervisor says you're not eligible ask for his/her name then call the SSA 1800 number. Give them the details of the office that you're at and ask them to call the supervisor to tell them they're wrong.

They may only let you get it in your maiden name. If that's the only way to get one then get it in your maiden name. You can change it later and having it in maiden name doesn't affect your AOS in ANY way.
