I am extremely happy to say that I found a great gift was in my mailbox after coming home from a very busy and stressful day at work! I have been pretty optimistic after last weeks July approvals, and even August, that we might have a chance soon. Our Noa1 was 7/26/06 so I must admit I was thinking that there was No way we would see an NOA2 till late October. My Maria kept telling me different saying she felt an earlier approval would happen. She kept saying, "You are the Magician", I think she is!

Yes we used the new form. I had answered YES to the question of whether you met through a marriage broker even though we did not. We met through a dating web site but many on VJ said, and proved this is the same because you paid $ to join and her email and mailing address was given. She wrote me first but my point is I don't beleive this is a big deal for USCIS.

These types of forums are very valuable tools to others that have not applied so I will reviel an embarrasing past. I had three incidents that involved alcohol and I sent in all court papers and Police report for one. Thel other two Police reports were destroyed because of date retension rules that after 10 years for non violent offenses are destroyed. The three incidents go back 23 years!!!! Still a YES answer had to be given. Absolutely No Violence Ever!!!! But read there description and it states that if alcohol was involved you must state it. Every individual needs to assess what there past incidents were.Whether you describe to UNCIS is up to you. It is not required that you describe incident, the court and police papers would do that.

I felt comfortable saying what happened and backed it up by the Police reports. It may not have hurt that I included a copy of my civilian Police badge for a major City I work for. I needed a complete BCA & FBI background check to receive this. I have Full access to any and all parts of the Police department and the rest of the city is a given. If your guessing, I work in Information Technologies.

Most important!!! If you had any trouble with the law, even if it was 23 years ago, I hope to God you told the person you want to spend the rest of your life with!!! The interview will cover all of this.

It is a long post but I wanted to get as much info to any others as this Forum is the best information we have received! Thank God we did not go through a Lawyer.

Thank you all :D:D:D

NVC Here we come :dance::dance::dance:

Congrats LuvLife,

It's not that unusual for the web site not to be updated with NOA2's to be sent out. That happened in my case a year ago and it will probably continue for years to come. The main thing is it's approved. Have you checked the processing times for Russia under the embassy timelines. I had heard that Russia was being pretty slow about the overall processing (that of course being our government and theirs). I believe it has more to do with a slower response on the background checks, but I could be wrong.

At any rate, you have passed the first hurdle. Now, get prepared for the next phase after the NVC finishes up their job. Things move much quicker through the State Department than the USCIS. You need to get the remaining documents prepared and ready and your fiancee needs to get her stuff together too.

Good luck and start practicing your Russian.

Thanks all for the smiles :))) :D:D:D Trust me, No one can wipe this smile from my face at this time. Yes there is more barriers to overcome but this approval came sooner than we expected. I am a Man that works with fairness and I can't believe we have I-129f petitioners with MUCH earlier dates that have still not been approved. For this, I don't celebrate :(

Kristen L> With such positive love and prayer, no one could deny you:))) I know you keep looking at Gary's Weekly approvals, Well keep watching as I think it was the most PERFECT Timeline of a Possible approval that anyone here could have!!!! YES It did not mean pefect approval, but reading Gary's weekly, and reading daily approvals on VJ, made us believe that the time was soon.

Thank you 1HappyGuy !!!! I think we are now in a differnet type of questions than the NOA1 to NOA2!!! Yes Russia is slow. I see that 81 days for the interview is standard. Is this true??? As far as background check, My Fiance had just completed this step before our approval and it took quite a bit of work on her part even though she has NO RECORD. She needed it sighned though and this also was granted to her and the new Passport for International Travel has already been issued to her. Is there something we don't know about???

Thanks for any help :)

Congrats~!

I'm curious why you did not receive an email though. If you log on to the USCIS website and click directly on your case number, does it show the status of the NOA2 approval?
