Hello Everyone,

I am a student (F-1 visa) and married my US born wife in May this year. We applied for I-485 and I-130 concurrently. I have my green card interview on 20th December and I am freaking out as I believe we don't have enough proof of bonafide marriage. Following is the all we have got:

1) Lease document having both our names on it (been living together for a year and a half)

2) Joint accounts in 2 banks

3) Wedding pics (but my parents couldn't make it due to expensive tickets and health problems.. my friends were there though)

4) Other pics (like her graduation, her sister's graduation, honeymoon, etc.)

5) Some chat/e-mail logs

Thats about it. We don't have any joint utility bills or joint insurance (neither health nor auto)

Even if I add her to utility account now, the next billing cycle won't be before my interview. What else can we do to show our marriage is real?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks jkelly!

Well we married this May, so haven't filed the taxes yet. Her cell phone and car insurance is both under her mother's name.

I guess from whatever you mentioned, I could only get the following:

1) Letters/Affidavits from friends

2) Wedding ring receipts

3) Receipt for her X-mas gift

4) DL's of both of us have same address

5) Marriage Invitation Cards

Will this all be enough? : /

sounds to me like you have enough. Our IO only looked at a few of our items. She didnt even open the wedding album. See if you can join a shopping club (BJs, Sams Club) and get a joint membership. Bring the same house key with you as well. Get a shopping card at the grocery store and have the little tag on both your keys. and make sure you have a lot of pictures to show the progress of your relationship

we had a lot of red flags and the interview came out fine with the evidence that we provided

It sounds to me like you have a good list. IOs know that not everyone will have everything. Your interview isn't based solely on evidence anyway, they also talk to you.

Our IO specifically asked for:

- lease agreement

- wedding ring receipts

- photos spanning our entire relationship (she checked the dates on the back!)

- our daughter's birth certificate

- insurance (which we didn't have)

- IDs with matching addresses
