I was closely following the guide on VJ about how to file an I-485, and it reports that the fee is $1010, $930 for petition and the remainder for biometrics. The fee has actually gone up and this guide is outdated, the new total fee for application + biometrics is $1070.

This is why you always need to check USCIS and why everyone here always says " go look at the USCIS website for up-to-date filing fees and forms for the process".good.gif

Where did you see this? It's quite common knowledge the fees went up. As stated you should always read the for instructions, which state the new fee.
