Hi VJ friends,

Just wondering, do we require Certified Birth Certificate Translation for birth-certificate? Or we can do it ourself.

I called to one company in USA, they claimed that US Immgration department accept only certified original copies of translation. He gave me the price of $75 USD, and if I prefer rush delivery, then extra $30 bucks.

Please suggest me your suggestion for birth certificate translation.

My birthcertificate is in Hindi.

Thank you and appreciate your help.

My wife's was in Gujarati. She got it translated to English by a translator/lawyer in India.

Yes, you can do it yourself if you want. If they doubt it's validity, how's it going to stand up to them since you translated it yourself? It's gonna look bad.

So, get it translated by a certified translator.

Now, to save some cash...send it to your spouse in India and have it translated there and sent back to you.

I also suggest you do this for the foreign spouse as well. You never know when her birth certificate will be needed for processing in future immigration procedures.

Remember...prepare for ALL angles of this process. If you have a doubt, counter it was a solution.

Thank you my friend, appreciate your help. I would prefer to get it done by Certified Translator so I can avoid RFE. Since I am beneficially, and I am in Chennai, India, could you please suggest me any reliable company in India, who can do it right away?

Thank you again!

No need for a company. Go to a lawyer and ask if they do translations from Hindi to English.

They will have a stamp that looks like a notary stamp and it will state they are a certified translator from Hindi to English.

Appreciate that! Since I am in Chennai, and hard to find someone who knows Hindi, plus it could be time taking for me to find someone.

I found one certified ISO translation company from Delhi. They can do it right away, get it notarized, etc etc. I asked for 3 copies, blue dart delivery, they quote me Rs 2500 INR. I guess, it is better deal than other company from USA.

Since I am in rush, and really wish to send out my IV package by Wednesday, so will go ahead with this quick mode.

Once again, appreciate your advice, helped! It really saved my money to look the translator in India, and I really found a cheaper deal.

Thank you!
