I know there are a lot of us on AP during the holidays but it seems to be more depressing this year than last year. At least last year we were moving forward with USCIS and the i130 and headed towards NVC... now we are at a stand still.. at least it feels like it...

im sure they are doing work and that our case really isn't sitting gathering dust but it really feels like it.

I keep reading that 50% of the cases are completed within a couple of months with the majority of them finished within 6 months leaving only those few cases to last longer.. those being either issues with background checks, relationship evidence, field investigations etc...but who knows which case we are...

I've already missed all of my first year of holidays with my husband... now we are headed for the second round... I'm depressed... all we found out was our case was fine, no worries, fbi reports haven't been finalized but they are working on that (two weeks ago) and we are still pending AP.

There isn't much anybody can say or do except wait for the time and it will be completed... I love my husband and he loves me deeply... all we want is our chance for happily ever after.. we want to start a family, we want to be together when it snows, we want to wake up and drink coffee together...and the list goes on....

I'm thankful every day for this man in my life... I just wish this part would end and our next step in the journey begin.

Just waiting for good news for us soon and for so many others waiting this painful AP...

And I just want to say thank you to all of you who send me messages of strength and Faith... Inshallah one day this really will end and we will live our lives blessed with our spouses!!!! AMEEN

I feel for you as I feel the same way. I know how depressing it is waiting and waiting, especially if there is no specific time to when the waiting will be over. Just have faith and keep strong. Love each other more and make it more stronger than yesterday. Everything happens for a reason. But I believe the right time will come. You will get your visa approve. My prayer for you on that. Cheer up, you are not alone in this road, all we need to do is keep the faith and hope.

I am in the same boat as you and the waiting is killing me also. I try to live one day at a time and try not to think too far a head.

To ease my stress I have quit calling DOS. It breaks my heart every time I talk to them. I will wait a few weeks before I call them again when I feel stronger.

On the holidays I wear my Pakistani clothes and spend extra time on the web cam with my husband. I invite people over to my house so I'm busy cleaning and cooking.

I wish I had words that could comfort you. I'm sad and depressed myself but I know this AP will end someday and we will be with our husbands.

I seriously don't understand what normal processing means too, after waiting 6 months i believe it's more lazy processing instead of normal processing.

I am in the same boat as all of you. I called DOS this morning with lots of hope and positive energy. But got so depressed when the only answer I got was its still processing. The visa specialist didn't have any answer to my other questions. I stopped calling the embassy since they tell me every 3-4 weeks that we got clearance from Washington DC and you will receive visa soon. I get my hopes up and after a week they tell me sorry there was a problem with the case and it was sent back to Wahsington for Clearance.

I did a lot of research and this is what I found. None of our petitions are sitting in the embassy. They are all being worked on. But unfortunately our spouses are mostly from Pakistan which is a very famous terrorist country right now. For us the embassy runs a full set of 7 database name checks and they do not do all the name checks at the same time. For example, they run the first one lets say Condor, they find a hit and send it to Washington for clearance. Washington takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to send back the clearance. Once Condor is cleared, the embassy runs the second name check, lets say NCIC, they find a hit and send it to Washington for clearance. Again 4 to 6 weeks. Once they receive the clearance back from Washington they do the 3rd name check and so one. So doing all the 7 name check takes them long long time. My husband is right now on his 3rd. So far the first two came back in less than a month each, for the third one it has been 23 days so far. So I am thinking for the remaining 4 name checks it should be about 4 to 6 more months. We have already been on AP for almost 4 months now, so another 4 to 6 months will make it about 10 months. Hopefully it wont take longer than that. Allah willing it will be sooner.

Lets support each other during this hard phase on AP and lets pray that all of us be united with our spouses soon.

I don't mind if they run 7 name checks, they can run as many checks as they want, but frustration starts when you don't know for how long you are going to wait and when the process will end! if there was a time frame mentioned it would little easier for all of us,
