I have in the last week received 6 notices (all from different UCSIS offices) to file for removal of conditions. Three for my daughter and three for myself. Our conditional permanent resident cards don't expire until February 25 2012. Following the 90 day rule I shouldn't file until 12/25/11.

Why would I be receiving these notices? Any thoughts?

Can you scan a notice and upload it?

I assume it's just a reminder that your time is coming soon, as sending you the reminder after your window has opened doesn't give you much time to get your ####### together.

The letter reads (they are all identical) :

The records of this Service indicate that you entered the United States as a conditional permanent resident on 2/25/2010. In accordance with section 216 of the immigration and Nationality Act you must file form i-751. Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Failure to do so may result in automatic termination of your status.

It should also be notice that my husband passed away in May. I am aware that I am free to file whenever I choose but had not planned on filing until the 90 day window.

Your window opens in a month. That's not exactly a reminder really far out (some people get them some don't).

Also, not to be insensitive you should have filed ROC when your husband died. You are in breach of your conditional status (just as you would be if you had divorced) and you can be detained by ICE and deported.

File asap to protect yourself.

12/25 is only TWO months before your Green Card expiration. Your 90 day window actually starts later this week - hence the reminder letters.

If your card expires 02/25/2012, 90 days before that date is 11/27/2011.

http://www.uscis.gov/dateCalculator.html

They contact you before the expiration date so that you can prepare your documents. Not sure why you received 3 notices each, some people don't get any at all.

Because your spouse has passed away, the time rule no longer applies to you:

Filing with a request that the joint filing requirement be waived. You may file this petition at any time after you are granted conditional resident status and before you are removed.

You will need to submit a copy of the death certificate with the filing.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your spouse. :(
