Questions about IV Packet

Hi All,

I had a few questions regarding the IV packet.

Can the form DS-230 (filled out and signed by the beneficiary) be scanned then emailed to me (here in the states) and sent in to NVC that way, or must I have my husband send it to me in the mail? In other words, because it will be a signed document, would NVC accept a scanned copy or is it better to have the actual signed document mailed to me?

Also, in question 10 of the form DS-230, asking about the permanent address where the beneficiary intends to live in the US, is it ok to just put my parent's house (which is where I currently live)? We don't yet have a place of our own.

Also, from reading other posts, I have come to understand that ORIGINAL documents should be sent in with this packet. The original documents that are requested (birth, marriage, military, and police certificates), do translations need to be included as well?

I greatly appreciate any and all responses. Thank you.

Must be signed. Thats mean he needs to fedex the doc to you. NVC dont accept scan copy for DS-230. Make sure, he doesnt sign the Part 2 for DS-230.

Yes, it is okay to put your parent's address.

Yes, require original and their translations.

Hope it helps.

THANKS!!! So is it ok to electronically fill out the DS-230, print it, then physically sign it? I did this with the G325A form for the I130 packet for my husband before I left from Egypt this summer. We filled out the forms electronically and then I printed and had him sign his form. I plan to have him fill the DS230 out the same way and then sign and send it to me by mail. Seem ok?

I have to have him get all his documents translated as well to be ready. We're still waiting on our NOA2 but I'm trying to have everything prepared.

Another question, does the copy of his passport biographic data page need translating as well?

Exactly right! Fill it online, print & signed by him. :-)

Doesnt it have both language on passport?

My Indian passport has everything mentioned in Hindi ( local language ) & English.

As far as I know, if there is any doc or even supporting doc, but if it is not in English, then it must needs to be translate, otherwise it is useless for NVC to understand about what exactly it says.

Send the originals and translation, just keep the copies.

Ok, will do...not sure how the passport looks honestly, but I'll pass the info along that anything not in English should be certifiably translated.
