If Michelle Obama were not married to a very poor President, no one would know who she is. If she is booed it is because of her association with a lousy President. I know the confederacy and I spent years working occasionally in Georgia/Alabama and I know what is said behind closed doors

I heard what they said at 2am in the country club after a few whiskies

They said they owned the industry in Detroit and the north and those Yankees are working day and night and weekends on shifts - for peanuts - in order to put money in the pockets of the south and they intended to win the war over the long term

These were VERY senior executives and owners of industry and I heard them on many occasions

There is still enormous hatred of the north

My wife's friend from Milwaukee is black and we invited her and her two black sisters to come over and visit us here in the north west. One is from Illinois and the other from Florida.

They were a hoot and a nice change from the central Washington conservatives

I don't think the boos were a racist comment. I think they were an anti Obama comment. I'm guessing a week or two ago you could have found a lot of Cain supporters in that crowd until the media took him down. He didn't help matters much himself.

Why all the "small town" bashing? I grew up in a very small town in Illinois in the 70's. What do you think goes on there? Our highschool was comprised of four very small towns and graduating classes were about 45 students at the time. We had a few rural black kids in our school and we all got along well. I never heard any racist statements until I went to college in a small city of about 200,000 people.

The only problem I had with the small town was finding a way to make a living. If you weren't a farmer you didn't have much of a chance.

BTW, even after growing up in that terrible small town, I still married outside my race.
