Hiya!

I sent off a request to expedite my husband's I-130 and

mailed it to the "PO Box 30111" address for the

California Service Center in Laguna Niguel since that's

where our petition was routed to.

Looking back in hindsight, was this the correct mailing

address to post it to?

Thanks! :help:

You should of called USCIS and they would of asked you to fax the proof etc to them or sent you a letter asking for the items to be sent to the correct address.

I'm across the pond in England with my husband and we're positively

strapped for cash, so snail mail and internet were my only options

I'm afraid

Bump

As we couldn't afford to make a phone call...

Would the PO Box 30111 address at CSC been the

correct address to mail our expedite request to?

Thanks again!

I've never heard of anyone requesting an expedite by just mailing something, without either the petition or an RFE (or after talking to USCIS on the phone and getting a specific name and address/ fax number). I suspect not many other VJers have, which is why you are not getting many replies. Paperwork sent without an official request often gets lost from what I have seen.

What is your expedite request based on? If you think it is too expensive to call from the UK, maybe a friend or family member in teh USA can call and get details?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

We're basing it off of compelling interest.

Hoping the USCIS has a heart (L)

My husband (UK citizen) lived in the USA with his parents

from the age of 6 to about 20, then moved back to England.

But he had a daughter when he was 17, she's a US citizen.

He hasn't seen her since she was 2 and would like to be there

when she graduates HS in May (2012) and her 18th bday is coming

up in Feb.

I mailed his daughter's letter with a copy of the NOA1,

and a note from me of course

PS I *know* it's too expensive to call because we haven't

been able to put credit on our phone for months (I can get

on the internet by using someone's unsecured wi-fi occasionally)

RE: WACXXXXXXXXX2

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to help my father, MH, expedite his service request to

come back to the United States. I have not seen my father since I was 2 years old

and would like to get to know him in person. Next year there are many milestones

in my life that I would like for my father to attend. My 18th birthday is

February 22, 2012, my high school graduation, in which I am valedictorian candidate,

is May 24, 2012, just to name a few. I would be thrilled to have him here on my birthday.

It has been a dream of mine to see him and truly get to know my father.

Sincerely,

MH

Compelling interest refers to the USA, not your family. I very much doubt that expedite would be approved, especially as your husband could travel on the Visa Waiver or a tourist visa for these two events.

.

The good news is, you may get lucky and get done before February, and while London takes a while to schedule interviews, they are often able to fast-track you even without an official expedite if you are flexible and can take a short-notice cancelation.
