Hello All!

Just need a little clarification on the I-134 form. I KNOW that I am required to fill out the I-134 since I am petitioning for my fiance. However, I am currently unemployed and will have a Co-Sponsor that will sponsor him FULLY & COMPLETLY until I become employed.

This is my question... Since I am unemployed and have no paycheck stubs, letter from employer or bank account info to submit

(1)is this going to be a problem? AND

(2)do I need to attach my tax returns from last year as well or do I just fill my I-134 form and attach with my co-sponsor's I-134 with NO OTHER supporting documents from me?

Thanks in advance!

You need to include your information ( or proof why you didn't do taxes ) You are the primary sponsor even if your income is zero. If you don't provide it they will ask and it will delay your reunion

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

First let me say the LAST thing I want to do is DELAY my reunion with the KING of my heart... with that said...

I do have taxes from last year to provide even though my current income is zero. But I ONLY have taxes for the past 2 yrs. as my proof. The problem is this... I was living in a different state, California, the past 2 yrs. and attending college full-time while working part-time, but I am worried with submitting my taxes cause my income for those years was VERY LOW and I am wondering if they will ask for further proof of how I supported myself with my income being so low and the cost of living in California so high.

For example, I was living with a friend and assisting her in caring for her children while she worked in exchange for room & board for me while I still attended college full-time and working at the college part-time, hence the very low earnings for the year as I ONLY worked part-time.

So will I ALSO NEED a letter from her confirming and explaining that I lived with her "In Case" the naija embassy questions my low earnings, they will see via my tax returns, and how I supported myself when living there?

Thanks again for ANY input... I am really trying to make sure I have ALL my basis covered and what they may need for proof or confirmation

I visited Ghana 1 time as my fiance was working there when I visited. When I visited I stayed there with my fiance for 3months...Feb2011-May2011... I graduated from college and before moving to South Carolina, which is where I live now, I visited my fiance there in GH for 3months then returned to the states living in South Carolina.

The money I used to travel there to meet my fiance and live there for 3months was from money I had saved over my years in attending college, working and saving money... why does that matter?

I know I need a co-sponsor to even make it happen I am only wondering WHAT ALL I NEED to send to my fiance so he will have EVERYTHING he needs to take care of businees the first time and not be REQUIRED to bring back more info at another time unnecessarily

Yes, I remember the post for the Petitioner toook multiple trips to visit. And my Co-Sponsor makes MORE than enough to show he will NOT become a gvt. liability. Not really worried about the proof either of a strong relationship as I have hundreds of pages of chat logs and phone bills with thousands of dollars in phone calls.

However, my question was more wondering IF I will need further proof, like a letter from the person I lived with, to validate and back up the fact that I lived with her for room & board in exchange for child care SINCE my taxes show my income as being so low. I am just trying to make sure we have ALL they may ask for to AVOID having to go back again to provide additional evidence and proof.

I doubt its necessity

So with that being said... Do you feel it is even necessary for me to submit my tax documents since I will have a Co-Sponor that will submit PLENTY of supporting documentation.

This is the problem... I am not able to get a letter of where I was living and the fact that it was in exchange for room & board in hopes of helping to EXPLAIN why my income on my taxes is so low. So at this point if I can't get a letter I am worried of how I will be able to prove ONCE I DO submit my taxes with I-134.

So now I am thinking maybe is better for me just to fill the I-134 and send NO supporting documents like taxes of my own. That way they never see and there is never a question as to why income for the year was so low, but I am not UNDERSTANDING what the Naija embassy will ask for from the petitioner if you are unemployed and using a co-sponsor...

Please am so confused on what to do...Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

The embassy has to decide if the immgrant is likely to become a public charge. You could have a co sponsor with a 6 figure income and if the petitioner has spent their life collecting public benefits they are free to decide it is probable that the beneficary will follow their spouses lead and still deny you. You are the person that the immigrant will live with and it is you that is the primary sponsor. If you don't show any imcome they are very apt to deny the visa. Unless you want to risk that you need to provide everything you are requested. A barter arrangement where you are give shelter for services instead of money is ok. I think you should have reported the value of the barter as "income" but I doubt many do.

note I am not implying you ever collected benefits just telling you what the embassy is looking at,
