ATLANTA -- A Georgia factory worker claims he was fired after he refused to wear a '666' sticker he feared would doom him to eternal damnation.

Billy E. Hyatt says in a federal lawsuit this month that he was fired in March 2009 from the plant after he refused to wear the sticker proclaiming that his factory had been accident-free for 666 days.

That number is the "mark of the beast" in the Bible's Book of Revelation describing the apocalypse.

Hyatt says he is a devout Christian and told a manager the sticker would violate his beliefs. When the day came, he was told his beliefs were "ridiculous." He was suspended and fired a few days later.

The company, now known as Berry Plastics Corp., did not return several calls seeking comment.

I first heard of this when I was a kid ...from a schoolmate. At the time I debated with him how it could even be possible to control what people bought but now as we move towards a cashless society, it would be very logical. IN a cashless society with everyone using debit type cards, it would be rather easy to "black list" a non-complianet member.

In fact, as the theory goes ... there would be no debit cards, instead people would have this mark, placed on the hand or forehead (Hope it's invisible) and one would scan their hand to do anything from make a purchase, get cited for a traffic violation and even perhaps unlock your front door. If your name is flagged you can't do anything.

WHile I don't see an anti-christ rearing it's head anywhere yet anywhere in the world, we are getting close to the time when the technology is near ready for his arrival.

You just gave me a funny memory. I recall at the time I was still a Christian (but not interested just claimed it for a free ticket to heaven) when I combed through some of the book of revelations. Just a bunch of psychotic nonsense probably written by some late 20s /early 30 year old buffoon (they didn't live long in the prehistoric ages). Recall that there is no science yet, no medicine, no doctors, no math, low life expectancy, bunch of apes running around mating with each other.

They didn't have a clue what was in the sky. How distant the objects were. How large they were. What they were. How hot they were. Et cetera.

Even in those days you probably could not see more than a few thousand stars in the sky on a clear night. And the buffoons must have thought the stars were cold and near and small. Maybe the size of a tree?

I read " I saw a large red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, with seven crowns on his heads. ⁴His tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky, and he threw them to the earth!"

I just had to burst out in a chuckle. What kind of buffoon thinks a dragon could swing his tail and swipe 1/3rd of all stars onto the earth.

To give you an idea of the retardism of this moron who wrote this nonsense:

Mercury is about 30 million miles from the sun versus the earth being 93 million miles from the sun. That is simply 1 average sized star.

An average high temperature on planet Mercury is a scorching 800 degrees Fahrenheit! No life ever has or ever will be on Mercury.

I'm not sure at what point life on earth would cease to exist but probably a lot less than 30 million miles from 1 star, our sun. It'd be so hot our oceans would start boiling and then just evaporate.

The best analogy for the number of stars in the sky is to go out, gather your drinking buddies, and start picking up every grain of sand you can find. Scour all beaches, lakes, rivers, ponds, and oceans. Collect every grain of sand one by one and then repeat the process 10X in a row!

Unfortunately, a truly sad aspect of religion is to write off the garbage as metaphor, or something that is not meant to be literal. So I know where this leads...

-For a guy who takes such an interest in Christianity and proving the falsehood of it, you too often come off as if your complete knowledge comes from Atheist talking points.

For instance, The dragon and stars are symbolic, I think (others can correct me) the ten Stars are often considered the ten leaders of the world at the time. It has nothing to do with Astrology as the talking point aimed to prove the irrelevance of the bible suggests.

-The Book of Revelations (60-100 AD) was not written in prehistoric times, Certainly at the time there existed: Science, medicine, doctors and yes, Math.

-I didn't count how many times you referred to people at the time as "Buffoons" but it was quite a number. If as you suggest they lived in a time of limited knowledge (as we do now).... how would that make them buffoonish or clowns?
