HI,

I am Priyatham Anisetty an International Graduate Student in University Of Central Arkansas, Conway. I came to my home country India on JULY-12th-2011. And I am not able to Attend Fall-2011 Semester Due to health problem. I reported that to my university. My university terminated my old I-20 and Issued me a new I-20 with Different SEVIS ID and asked me to pay the SEVIS Fee again . I paid the Sevis Fee again. My school DSO told to me I don't need a new visa to return to united states since I am returning back with in 5months of out of stay from US.(planning to return on DEC-5th-20110).

My question's are :

1) My visa is containing my Old SEVIS id printed on that, and my I-20 is having a NEW SEVIS Id . Is this going to be a problem during my immigration .

2)Do I need to Get a new Visa with new SEVIS Id printed on that, or I can use the old visa to return to united States.

Thanks In advance,

You don’t need a new visa, but you should keep all your past I-20 together during the entry and officer at POE might ask to see your older I-20.

As per me you should keep all your I-20.

Harsh_77 thanks For your reply . I have my old I-20 with me and I also have a Letter from International Office stating why they changed my I-20. I have one last question Does the 30 day rule is applicable for me . (Fresh students should not enter united states 30days prior to their start date in I-20. Does this rule applicable for me ).

Yes that rule will be still applicable, coz you cannot enter US say 4 months before your semester starts - as you will have no status if you are not enrolled in the classes.

yes keep the letter from your International Office and most likely the CBP officer should be able to see your previous I-20 on his records too.
