Gents,

My case is Immigration Visa IR-1 through DCF, I entered the States @ 21 Oct.

Generally, I searched for case updates by USCIS, and found it's the same for all and ends with the green card few days ago.

BUT my case went like this:

1- Decision

On November 7, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

2- Post Decision Activity

On November 9, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this OS155A IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I became happy and waiting for the green card in mail.

Today I got case status updates dated 18 Nov. stating that my case in the "Decision" phase with the same message EXACT message like no. 1 as the following:

On November 18, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. It sounds strange to me, that my case was in "POST Decision Activity", then returned back after 10 days to "Decision"!!!

Is it normal? Is there anything wrong?

Please advise

Sometimes a file has work done on it on a certain date and the information gets entered into the computer - and then for whatever reason the file doesn't get 'completed' and is again worked on a few days later, generating another report saying the same thing but with a different date. I got notices of two different dates with my 2 year conditional green card approval. I didn't know what the 'actual' date of approval was until I received the actual card. It was for the later of the two different dates.

I doubt you have anything to worry about. You could look at it like they are being doubly efficient':D . The good news is that this is an approval notification that your permanent residency status has been registered.

So, keep both copies of the notification available and when your green card actually arrives, check the date to see which one it is. i doubt it will take 60 days either - most often the green card arrives in about a week or two after the notice. It is possible that the first notification is the actual approval date, and when they mailed the green card it generated the second notification. You could check that by looking at the postmark on the envelope when the green card arrives.

We have seen similar things happen before with our Visa Journey members. i don't think you have anything to worry about. Welcome to America!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks for that, I started to breath again. It's highly appreciated.
