I wouldn't think those years would be sufficient since what the USCIS is looking for are current means of providing support. Starting at 2003 is 2 tax years behind. What the government is concerned about is that you will not become a public charge for at least 3 years. Other board members may have more knowledge than I on this subject.

Hi again,

I would appreciate if anyone can give me an answer to one more question.

My friend, who is an USC is willing to be my joint sponzor but she can give tax returns only for

2001,02 and 03. Does anyone know can I take her?

It might depend on the reason she can not provide 2004 on.

They will have to have 2005, if you don't have them they might make you back and file. I have heard of cases were US Embassey requested people to go back and file the current year after the case cleared through NVC. It is best to have more information than not enough. I would send 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005.

Thanks Flygirlworld! Thats what I was thinking they have the 2004 taxes for the joint sponor but since the guidelines went up their employment letter looks like they only meet the guidelines by $50 (new guidelines). But the 2005 tax return shows they made way more then required for both new and previous guidelines. Thanks for yorr help and opinion.

I think, if the interview is in the March of April, CO's will not ask for the 2005 taxes. As the Tax returns are due on April 15th.

Just to be safe, I am planning to prepare my taxes this weekend, so I can send them to my husband before his interview March 23rd.

My sponors taxes are already done and they look much better the previous years over the guidelines. So Im thinking about just sending them to my husband incase. This way incase they ask we dont have to worry. I have my taxes done too but they are no where near the required amount since I didnt work all year. But I did make a fairly large income for the year considering I hadnt worked all year. Thanks for everyones help.
