Dad wants to petition his daughter

Hi everyone,

A family friend wants to petition his daughter to get the U.S citizenship after him, they currently both live in Poland. She is turning 18 soon.

His questions are:

Does he have to be in the U.S to do this?

And after she turns 18, can the dad still give her the U.S citizenship?

How does he plan on getting citizenship when hes not in the USA and oaths take place in the USA?

Hi my dad became a USC this past September. By that time I was already 19 and he can't file for me toget citizenship. He can, though, petition for me through the adjustment of status process. Your case is different I am already in the us I think you'd have to do everything through th consulate

He is a u.s citizen already, and he wants her to get the citizenship from him because shes still 17. I think he might just call the embassy to see what his options are. They only have like a month until she turns 18.

Im not sure but I think of he files now and his petition goes through she might be able to make it because her age "freezes" as soon as that happens

In order to make the daughter eligible for derivative citizenship, dad needs to have lived in the U.S. as a citizen or permanent resident for at least 7 years, 5 of which need to have been after HIS 14th birthday. He will have to prove this.

Nothing said about the dad even being a US citizen, a guessing game for the repliers.
