Hello everyone! I just joined this forum and noticed all the helpful posts here. Forgive me if my question has already been answered elsewhere in this forum.

My wife(from Japan) and I submitted our I-751 in June. Everything up to that point has gone really smoothly. A few days ago we got an I-797E in the mail.

When we submitted our I-751 we only submitted our joint bank account statements with both our names on it and our rental agreement.

After reading the posts in this forum I realize now that we submitted much too little proof.

Our I-797E is just a blue form with two white pages attached to it explaining what can be submitted etc.

On the end of the last white page it states "NOTE: The rental agreement you submitted does not have the signature of both parties. Please see above."

We reviewed out rental agreement and it only has my name signed on it. So of course that doesn't help any. We only have that rental agreement because our landlord who lives on the second floor of the duplex had us sign

that one rental agreement for 6 months and there after it was a month-to-month lease which we never had a rental agreement for. All we have are receipts for paying our rent that is made out to both of us.

I was thinking of asking our landlord to make a rental agreement for the current month where my wife and I can sign it but I don't see how that will really be any proof.

Should I ask my landlord who actually lives at the same address as us and whom we see everyday to write a letter explaining how we've been living together all this time or is that not enough?

Another problem is that I filed our taxes jointly for 2010 but when reviewing it just now...noticed an error in my wife's middle initial! Everything else is correct except for that one middle initial so I don't know if I should

submit a copy of our tax returns as additional proof.

This is the list of what we have so far for proof in response to the I-797E:

Copy of both our drivers license with same address

Car insurance with both names printed

Statements of our joint bank account with both names on it

We also have 3 credit cards with the same account numbers so we made copies of both cards from the same accounts.

Our cell phones are under my name so I printed the account info page that shows both phones and the names associated with each phone.

We recently went on vacation so I printed the flight confirmation email and baggage receipt that has both our names on it.

Photos from the trip stated above.

All of our rental payment receipts since we started renting (just over a year) with both our names on it.

Will get two affidavits one from my father and one from a friend. Will use the sample form from here and get it notarized.

Does that list seem like it's enough evidence or should I add more?

Sorry for the long post.

Affidavits do not need to be notarized.

You should have the land lord write a letter.
